Xiaomi Mi Band 5 to sell as Mi Smart Band 5 outside China, NFC nowhere to be seen
The Portuguese website Techbit got a review unit of the smart band and revealed it will have another name for the global market but, sadly, will lack NFC.
The first-impression article reveals the wearable will be called Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5, following the Mi Smart Band 4 from last year. We already know it has a slightly bigger display, more sports, and physical activities, and an entirely new charging connector.
The Mi Smart Band 5 will also come with customizable shortcuts and can act as a remote shooter for the smartphone camera that will help people take TikTok videos a bit more effortlessly. There are also some new features like breathing exercises and PAI (Physical Activity Intelligence) score.
Once launched, we expect to learn more about the gadget, including its price, but given it retained the Mi (Smart) Band 4 price tag, this version is likely to cost around €30.
