I was really looking forward to this one :(
I was one of those people who was satisfied with their Mi Max 2, and didn't see the 3 as a worthwhile upgrade... I was waiting for the 4th, with hopefully everything the earlier models had plus a better camera, newer SoC and maybe actual front firing stereo speakers like on the Mate 20 X

Damn you Xiaomi. I was really waiting for this phone. I know that Mi Max 3 might have sold less than expected but many were happy with Mi Max 2 and felt there was no reason for upgrade and were waiting for Mi Max 4. Mi Max 4 would have sell well.
I'll have to look for some other manufacturer big phone now.

I only hope they are still gonna release it but just at a later date. Is harsh trying to release every year at the same time a new improved phone. Sometimes tech and prices simply didn't advance
much in a year and also the technicians are too pressed.
So i hope they just said that to release the pressure and just release it later when they are comfortable. I mean that phone looks awesome from the specs. Getting those specs with similar pricing as the Mi Max 3 it would be amazing.

xiaomiuser, 08 Jul 2019It might be fake news that the Mi Max 4 has been abandoned.... moreFake news. It's gone.

It might be fake news that the Mi Max 4 has been abandoned. Respected tech sites yesterday were talking about its release.
Of course, it might be intentional fake news - in order to try and sell out the remaining stock of Mi Max 3

This is a such expected phone for many and they decided not to make it.
I hope some company make a 7 inch phone with decent spects and camera soon, for now the Samsung a70 looks like a good option.

So disappointed they canceled the mi max series. I was hunting for a phablet a few years ago and heard about mi max and after researching i went for the mi max 2. After a year i upgraded to the mi max 3. I really love these phones what a shame. Big screen, fast, long battery life. Simply fantastic especially at the price point.

What idiots cancelling the Mi Max 4. I guess I'll go ahead and order a One Plus 7 Pro now even though it's too small for me as I really really wanted a 7.2'' phablet screen.

Anonymous, 21 Jun 2019It says on the Xiaomi website there will be no Mi Max 4. ... moreDamn, looks like they feel the Max series is going to be redundant in the light of the upcoming Foldable smartphones..
But I think they'll regret this decision, cuz Foldable phones are going to be expensive, not to speak about their unknown durability.

Please increase fast charging to 25W or 27W (quick charge 4+). I use now Max 3, good phone.

Ioannis, 01 Jun 2019Go search to ebay for huawei t2 7 pro and huawei mediapad x... moreThank you. I am aware of these models but there are a few problems with them.

Firstly, T2 7 Pro with 3GB RAM are extremely scarce. I own a Lenovo Tab3 7 LTE with 2GB RAM, and it is a pain in the @ss to write an e-mail or longer text. You have to wait some 2-3 seconds until the characters appear on the screen and when you mistype, the correction is very slow and annoying. Sure, it has only a quad-core MTK, but I am not sure if the octa-core SD can handle it much better with only 2GB RAM.

Secondly, it has Android 5.1 only. Isn"t this a 'little' obsolete for today's browsing and general handling?

Thirdly, the Mediapad X2 is scarce too and it still maintains a high price, even if used. I simply fear to buy from afar for a considerable price. It's a big risk for me.

p.s.: there is also a Zenfone 3 Ultra, but its similar with Mediapad X2. And last time I saw a new one from Hong-Kong, the only available color was pink :-P
So it would be nice to have something newer these days..

Nathaniel, 29 May 2019In my personal opinion, and from what I see in some of the ... moreI would personaly welcome a 7" phablet with 16:9, midrange SoC and LTE capability, which is an ideal browsing and e-mail writing device, which is still highly portable (u can put it inside a breast pocket of a jacket), unlike the 8" tablet. And a smartphone up to 15cm lenght as a 'personal communicator' that fits confortably in any throusers' pocket.
So Im for a 2-piece solution, not into a 6+" device that doesnt fit into throusers, barely lasts one day, and is still too small for comfortable browsing...

In my personal opinion, and from what I see in some of the users, friends and people with whom I work every day, almost perfect device for the middle market will be the XL version of the A series of Xiaomi, for example MI A3 PRO or MI A3 XL as google does on its devices.

There is no doubt that the MI A1 and A2 & A2 Lite are good and successful devices. But I believe there is a place and expectation in the market for a very large device for the A series made by Xiaomi. because when a customer is interested in an Android One device such as MI A2 for example because it runs a clean Android but also interested in MI MAX 3 because of the screen's size, the situation here is that there is a dilemma what buy between two quite different devices.

The best solution in my opinion is to produce a larger version (possibly even more premium) of the A3 as Huawei does with the P20 / P30, Samsung with the S10, Google with the Pixels, etc. - to this place the market is marching... or alternatively create an Android one version to the MI MAX 4 / MI MAX 4 PRO, which will be released very soon.
Such a device is currently lacking and I personally estimate that there will be demand if it is launched.

I hope that Xiaomi receives feedbacks from their customers, listening them (and maybe reading comments) while receiving their decisions before production.
I would like to hear from the users of this wonderful website what do you think?
                              Thanks (-:

I wish they also made a high-end Mi Max 4.
