That screen size number is kind of deceiving since it's measuring the whole display to the back and not just the front, making it seem like it's huge but in reality is near the height of a OnePlus 7 Pro

If you want a normal high end phone then Athenian Mi Mix 3, Mi 9, Mi9T, Mi9T Pro or Mi 9 Pro (5G) would be better choices depending on your budget. Maybe Redmi Note 8 Pro

I wonder how much it would cost if it just had the right hand part of the screen on the back without a curved display. Just 2 separate screens. Probably under $1200.

Mi Mix Alpha: 157.6 x 74.1 x 7.8 mm
The reason it has a 7.92" display is because it curves around the phone. The phone itself is not any bigger to hold than other phones of today.

It is funny seeing all of these people who can't ( and won't) be buying the phone to complaining about a concept phone which xiaomi themselves put out a ads to stated as such.
Mi mix series is Xiaomi's concept phone line to begin with.

People complaining about the price being far too expensive. They have to remember that this is a limited run smartphone with crazy ideas. It is pretty much the same story with the China-only Samsung W flip smartphone series, with the latest being the W2019. It cost nearly the same as this Mi Mix Alpha, but Samsung knows that there are wealthy Chinese people out there who still fancy flip phone body. Heck, you could even say that the W2019 is basically a flip phone S9+. I actually wouldn't be surprised if this Mi Mix Alpha would be a China-only device.
