So by the things I read, I assume it's best to not update to hyperOS?
Just ordered it, USB and chipset won me over vs Poco Pad.
SD 7s have poor performance to have a generation of ARM cores (A78) above this pad at same frequency, I guess since it's made by Shamsung and not TSMC.

Bought 8gb ver a month ago for 400$. Super smooth. I watch movies, anime hooked to wifi/smb. It can stream 1 gbit (that's my pc's net card) no problem. I also read manga, open pdfs for school. Speakers are good and the display is as good as the sheet says, it's the reason I bought this instead of a 100$ 10" 1080p ips fire tablet. Also I'm poor so seeing firefox handle 30 tabs without a sweat is oof. Doesn't heat (duh it's snapdragon) and the battery is quite good unless for some reason your eyes must stay glued to the screen for 14 hours and you don't get half an hour on an electrical outlet lmao. Sorry I won't review games or productivity.
Now for the bad, hyperOS broke adaptive frame rate. You might ask, dude what? And that's the correct response. Idc about the bloat, look at the specs on this monster. Also if you removed the 3 dots and can't see the battery, you can fix that from settings>notifications&.
Overall (so only for media) it's an 11/10 for me unless you bring me a bigger screen, better panel or higher resolution but not happening ahahaha. Don't ask me about Netflix and such cuz I have a lot of drm-free media on my pc and that runs perfectly

Anonymous, 30 Jul 2024Is this still worth getting this in 2024? Or should I go fo... moreyes it is....If you manage to tune the software, debloat those unuseful pre installed apps , and those annoying nigles you need to set up with Miui, it´s a fine choice (depending on how much you pay).
The HDMI connectivity is a plus, the screen is superb very sharp, so is the overall smoothness with Hyper OS (still not convinced that is any good comparing with other alternatives) but for my usage is perfect. If you want extra productivity get the official keyboard cover, you´ll be surprised.....
Still think that Lenovo is better but the P12 was more expensive compared and not necessarily better than the Mi Pad 6

Much faster SoC still and probably you receive the same updates, which is something that is not that important. Better screen on Mi Pad too. Almost 100g lighter. The only thing where Poco Pad is better is on battery life, but 10 to 15h s screen time is really enough for most people (mipad 6). Mi Pad have UFS 3.1 X UFS 2.2 from the others. It's not a negligent difference, it's a much faster memory.

Everybody says to buy this 2k displays tablets for media consumption.
But nobody says how are the movies on this tablets (Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max)?
This media streaming companies stream in majority of times in 1080p (even 720p if you are using directly web browser). Doesn't matter if you have 100Mb internet or 1000Mb.
So, my question in this case, Does Netflix 1080p movies look good on this 2k displays of tablets?
I know that tablets are not as big as monitors, but still I am curious to see how the movies appear. I had some bad experience with 1080p movies on 1440p monitor.

Is this still worth getting this in 2024? Or should I go for the newer Poco Pad/ Redmi Pad Pro?
Including all the accessories, price is almost the same. Would I be sacrificing on performance if I go for Poco Pad? since it has bigger screen

Does anyone know how to solve the problem with Zoom on this tablet. Everything works ok during the meeting, but it is impossible to save the chat and find the downloaded PDF documents later. Reinstalling the application and restarting the tablet does not help.
Does anyone have similar experiences?
