Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4 review
Design, build quality, handling
The Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro tablet looks like any other tablet at the front. It has a flat glass above the screen and reasonable bezels. It has an aluminum unibody with a flat, angular frame and a flat rear side, which looks like an oversized Xiaomi 14 because of the camera island.
The square camera bump is home to the 50MP rear camera, the 2MP depth sensor, the LED flash and one of the mics.
Like the Xiaomi Pad 6, the 6S Pro model is available in three colors - gray, blue and green.
The whole front is occupied by the 12.4-inch IPS LCD screen - which is notch-less, thankfully! It has a nice pixel density of 295ppi and supports all sorts of perks like 144Hz refresh rate, over 1B colors, and Dolby Vision.
The front 32MP camera is placed inside the bezels on one of the longer sides. Next to it, on the frame, is the magnetic holder/charger for the Focus Pen, should you decide to get one.
The tablet has four large speaker grilles, two on each short side, but there are a total of six speakers behind. The grilles further from the camera cover two speakers each and should provide more bass.
As we said before, the back is flat with a square camera housing jutting out. The glass covers two cameras, the flash and one of the mics. The other one is on the frame.
Overall, the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro is a well-built tablet with stylish and grippy design, lightweight for its size, and super comfortable to work and play with.
Accessories
The Focus Pen comes with a spare tip inside its box. The pen attaches magnetically to the slate and has three buttons on the bottom half - a Spotlight button that enables a Pointer, Highlighter, or Remote shutter, depending on the app, while the multifunctional buttons can open up apps with a long press, or snap screenshots. It also has an impressive 8192 levels of pressure sensitivity.
The Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro Cover, with a unique folding design that you can "origami" into different functions, is quite cool!
Having this design means you can make a kickstand to support the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4 in both vertical and horizontal positions.
Finally, you can opt for the Touchpad Keyboard. It's not the most imaginative name, but it does what it says on the tin, and having a touchpad on a tablet keyboard is still rare.
The cover portion of the accessory has a rubbery, grippy surface, while inside, around the keyboard, it's leather-like. There's a solid kickstand on the back that you can position whichever way you like, for the perfect support angle.
The keys have nice travel and are wide enough for hours of comfortable typing. They are backlit, too, and you can either control the backlighting brightness manually, or set it to auto, which is nice. The touchpad itself is small but has a glass surface that feels great to the touch.
