Thank you for keeping the conversation civil and on point.
About your underwhelming experience with HyperOS, I recommend you try Shizuku with the help of XDA forums and YouTube tutorials in order to get rid of bloat in HyperOS, I have removed any and everything from the office phone and that not only improved the performance but also gave a noticeable battery boost.
Shizuku+Local ADB+Canta from F-Droid should help you get more value out of your phones. I know we shouldn't have to make workarounds for a good experience but come on, we are Android people and we shouldn't be afraid of taking the charge.
Hope that helps and have a nice one ✌️

However, my experience with 4GB ram and HyperOS has been the opposite. It's always been an unstable laggy mess, especially after software updates. However 6 to 8GB ram seems to be the sweet spot for being able to have an acceptable (long term) user experience on xiaomi's.
In Europe, I guarantee you that xiaomi will also release the C75 5G or the Redmi 14c 5G with a limitation of 4GB ram. They've been doing this a lot recently, and it's very frustrating as i generally like their lcd display tech, but the user experience always falls short.

PanRT, 29 Dec 2024Why no? :DLCD uses a backlight to show bright colors and the pixel matrix is a different layers that can block or refract various colors. With LCD the backlight can only be blocked to mimic dark/black area but the backlight stays on at the same brightness since it is a single film of led diffusion layer. OLED is self luminous and each pixel can produte it's own light meaning black are true blacks cause they are off. There are more expensive methods of backlighting like Mini LED and baclight with local dimming zones but neither available for mobile phones yet. Some phones may come with AOD regardless if it has LCD but that increases power consumption so it is pointless.

I said similar models co... moreTake your own advice bub. I said 6 should be standard 8 is being unreasonable. I don't know what phone you've dealt with that gave you the impression that 4GB is just unusable but it's not. I am using a phone with 4 GB ram that's almost 6 years old and ues it struggles but that's because I'm using it the way I was used to with my OnePlus 7 Pro. I have ad-guard running and almost always about 15-17 tabs open in chrome. But as long as it's just one app at a time, it gets the job done. There is an office phone Redmi 12C with 4 GB RAM but it does way better with multiple apps (yes, even with hyperOS). I can even play some games that I never thought possible on this ancient low ranger, I've run Roblox on it, Minecraft also runs well so it gets the job done until I can get a proper new phone.
There is no other phone offering more than 4GB RAM at or below ₹8500 INR and there is no version of C75 that's in China with 8 GB RAM. Keep in mind $10 USD is ₹843.xx INR and if that was 5% of your monthly income, every dollar/rupee counts.
Let's recap
1. I didn't defend no practice, I said 6 should be standard.
2. You don't get how peice sensitive some markets are.
3. You don't understand that Xiaomi manufactures this phone in China and then ships internationally to India while keeping the costs low. Business ain't cheap bub.
4. If you said take away all camera except main and selfie, yeah maybe more Ram is possible.
5. Price goes up with Qualcomm too. 4s Gen 2 (4nm) vs D6100+ (6nm)
6. This was never made for people like you and me and you know it.
7. Price is king here and the only cheaper 5G phone here is Poco M6 with Mediatek 6100+ that was released in 2023. So for this year C75 and it's various names is it.

S I R E, 26 Dec 2024Chill. It's ₹8500 INR, A crispy or crumbly bill of Ben... moreLearn to read & comprehend.
I said similar models come with a minimum of 8GB ram in CHINA. Whereas the international market always seem to receive lower ram models.
Also, I'm not from American. I'm from Europe.
Thirdly, why offer 5G in a handset with only 4GB ram, when the full benefits of 5G cannot be experienced due to limitation of app usage. It's all well and good having high speed 5G (which, by the way, is not nationally available throughout India, as it's still a new yet expanding tech), when basic social media apps won't be able to make use of the high speed, as practically only one or two apps will be able to open at any given time.
It's worth noting that 4GB also has severe limitations with regards to future proofing & software updates. So this model is essentially e-waste that will become obsolete within a year.
Looking at flipkart, and the general 5G handset prices in India, it's obvious that other brands such as Lava, Intel, Poco, Realme. Techno, Iqoo, Vivo, Umidigi, Blackview etc etc all have more powerfully specced handsets at the equivalent or similar price. So you're argument doesn't really stand.
Stop defending unfair practices and the marketing ploys by the multi billion rupee brands, and start taking a stand and demanding more from them as a consumer. 4GB ram is not enough to have a basic smart phone/multimedia experience, alongside android 14/HyperOS.

Anonymous, 23 Dec 2024Still shocked that manufacturers like xiaomi are forcing 4G... moreChill. It's ₹8500 INR, A crispy or crumbly bill of Benjamin Franklin for you Americans out there. I would find some reason in your argument if you said 6GB RAM at the price would be great and yeah that should be bare minimum but 8? Buddy that Mid-Ranger money, the target audience is, well INDIA, most people here make less than 2 Ben Franklins a month (that's $2400 or less in a whole calendar year) but the government is pushing on digitising EVERY SINGLE THING from licenses to identity card to voter card to payments to transport tickets, you name it. Believe it or not, many people here still PREFER using old T9 style keyboard phone and with that comes their comfort zone of spending $60 or less when they need a phone, which is usually when the current one breaks or gets stolen (yes they even steal that crap here). Put all that together and the need for a device that can run banking apps, tax apps, government aid apps, some manner of internet messaging app like WhatsApp, you get the gist, basic modern interaction with apps and webs. These folks don't know or care about anything past what the government forces em to do. Next up kids, kids don't need expensive phones they can use to hammer you down, they are lound enough as is.
Think of this phone as a transitioning point for many people.
Oh and I almost forgot, you know what Australia did with old phones right? Banned/Blocked all IMEIs in the whole nation that don't meet modern standard? Rendering even the most expensive flagships bought only couple years back useless? Yeah this is for them too, this phone is being marketed as the cheapest 5G smartphone available in India at least.
You could buy a Poco X3/Pro if you want something better performance wise but even those refurbished are going for around ₹8500-12000 or $100-140 on Amazon here, more ram, better SoC but older network support compared to this one here.
Make of that what you will but be reasonable.

Still shocked that manufacturers like xiaomi are forcing 4GB ram on the international market, while the same/similar models in China get up to 8GB minimum.
When will we all stand up to this appalling practice? It's absolutely abhorrent that only 4GB ram is being offered going into 2025. It's absolutely unacceptable. 4GB ram is not enough to have a basic comfortable experience using social media apps alongside HyperOS.
There are people out there that want and need to use LCD for health reasons (oled sensitive eye strain etc), yet all the LCD models are either completely bare bones and underpowered and the ones like the c75 5g are stuck with 4GB ram only.
It's extremely frustrating and it makes me very very upset, and it's putting me off xiaomi and other similar brands. I just hope this is using ufs storage, because it'd be even more shameful if they're still using emmc in this 5g model.
