There are basic requirements for smartphone to be a smartphone. If you still complain it is expensive, then go buy something at 250 and don't complain why sub 250 smartphone doesn't work like sub 500 or sub 1000 smartphone.

The comments section's complain is mostly non-sense.
1. Complain about lack of Micro SD card slot and 3.5mm headphone jack.
These 2 thing are long obsolete on many of the flagship smartphone, and the trend is started by Apple's iPhone. I never complain about these 2, but similarly, I blame manufacturer why following the non-sense trend, less is more? However, it has become norm since many has started to exclude these 2, and Xiaomi is among the first smartphone manufacturer to not include Micro SD slot for flagship, later exclude also 3.5mm jack. But please, there has been plenty of solution and workaround out there, just learn to live with that.
2. Complain about the screen is only 1080p and not 2k. This is subjective, screen minimum should has 1080p, but 2K are really optional these day and having 2K screen doesn't directly imply is the better screen. In fact for sharpness wise, bare eye cannot tell the different between the 2, and for 2K screen, gaming wise is inferior to 1080p screen because GPU need to use more power to run on 2K screen.
3. No OIS on camera, use inferior camera sensor.
This one also is non-sense, this smartphone main selling point is gaming, so does the design and gaming button, and not focus on camera quality. If you are looking for something better in camera, look else where.
4. Complain for small battery capacity. 4700Mah isn't small, not the biggest, but definitely not the smallest. Go check around which smartphone has drastically big battery with 6000mah battery or up to 7000mah with equivalent SD8 Gen 1 processor? At this price point the competitor has 4800mah and 5000mah, not far off. So it won't affect serious battery life.
5. Still arguing over bad MIUI experience, cut corners here and there.
Please, this is among the cheapest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 smartphone around, Certainly, it has it's cut corners, but look at the pricing again, not many smartphone has this kind of specs at this price point.
All in all, at this price point, for gaming centric and want to get the cheapest among the competition, then get this phone. If want better camera, then pay more to get Realme GT2 Pro. For the most utility and somewhere in between for camera, get Motorola Edge 30 Pro. Edge 30 Pro even has wireless charging/reverse wireless and USB 3.1, has type C display port output. There is a small screen variant called Xiaomi 12 that fall somewhere in between. So, get your priority right and get the right smartphone if you are interested for these budget flagship. Else, then spend more for other brand's of flagship smartphone.

Mi 11T pro 8/256 or Poco F4 GT
what to buy i somehow have the impression that Xiaomi is abandoning POCO and Redmi when it comes to upgrades, so I'm more inclined to buy Mi 11T pro, otherwise I have a POCO F2 pro for two years which has a lot of bugs.

This is a gaming beast for $530 phone! Definitely worth the price though they could've made it Super-Amoled and 5000mAh, since it got a 120W Charging Adapter. Would recommend to buy!
