Anonymous, 27 Aug 2025I guess so, or at least this device doesn't get hot as... more8+Gen1 and 8Gen2 appear on the same year as 8Gen1, these are vastly improvement on 8Gen1, but still not totally get rid of overheating, the one that really stable is 8Gen3, but that is another year or 2 later. Honest speaking, this smartphone has one of the best processor at that time despite not having 8Gen2, and the pricing is insane, it is also one and only smartphone at that time at that pricing has 512GB. Time goes very fast, and it is almost 2 years half.

The phone doesn't overheat on normal usage, just normal heating and get cooled very quickly. The rest, this is typical Xiaomi with adequate on almost everything, it is not the best or perfect smartphone at that time, but it is not too bad, even main camera is quite capable, just ultrawide and selfie is not up to mark. But for the pricing, it is what it is. At least from my usage, it doesn't overheat like crazy, also not occasionally restart itself, everything is quite stable, just not as stand out like a true flagship.

People say Poco doesn't make flagships and the best they got are mid-ranges. Show me a mid-range phone that is buttery smooth and super responsive in smoothnes test after all those years like mine, even tho i bought it USED!
Yes, this phone has some cons like:
-the phone gets hot very quickly and it's after all a pretty warm phone
-it has only IP53 certification
-it will not recive Android 16 (only HyperOS 3.0 but built on Android 15)
But over all, this phone is still absolutely amazing in 2025 and it will probably be in some years. Don't be afraid to buy this phone used, you will not be disappointed.

This phone in 2023 was amazing, I always wanted it, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 back then was amazing! It was like the Poco X7 Pro back then, an incredible phone.

I'm not longer using Xioami device so I'm not sure were the settings for that. Or try check setting for music apk and recording apk.
