The software is sadly so trash. Ruins this good phone.

Camera and microphone are lacking. But no one buys poco for the cameras anyways

This is the official xiaomi website link for the whole FAQ on the F8 Pro, if you go onto the page and hit CTRL + F and search "aptx lossless" question 8 answers that with:

"Q8: Does the POCO F8 Pro support aptX lossless?
A: Yes, the POCO F8 Pro supports aptX lossless."

Took me less than 10 seconds to find.

Crass, 02 Jan 2026 Re: “I'm not sure how to describe it to you in more e... moreYea I dunno I tried to explain it to you that the PPI is virtually the same as it's using a different more advanced true RGB display tech but seems like that has completely gone over your head twice! So I'm not surprised you couldn't find the info about aptx lossless either lol.

Do you even know the differences of pentile pixel structure and a true RGB pixel structure? Do you even know how OLED display tech works? Do you even know what a pixel is? I'd like you to research then explain those using your own brain, then you can claim to know a slither of anything about displays.

I don't personally use wireless headphones or earbuds as the audio sucks compared to having a balanced 4.4mm output but once again the F8 Pro has aptx lossless if you like wireless audio gimmicks, I have IEMs like the tangzu fudu verse 1 for when I'm out and about and for home use Sennheiser HD560S, HD600 and Hifiman Edition XS connected to an SMSL dl200 DAC AMP.

Taken from Xiaomi own mi website for the POCO F8 Pro.

NO, they are not the same resolution! As the Poco F7 Pro has 1.7 Million more pixels (1,706,440) which is a substantial increase in resolution.

Crass, 02 Jan 2026Re “...and the screen clarity is indistinguishable...” I... moreLike I said before the F8 Pro is using a completely different pixel structure so I'm not sure how to describe it to you in more easy to understand detail but it's the same resolution as the F7 Pro as the F7 Pro has additional green pixels for brightness which they have removed here with superior display technology that doesn't need those additional green pixels anymore. In return lower resolution video or games is scaled better and the screen consumes less power as less useless green pixels that do nothing for the PPI as the F8 Pro screen uses a 1R:1G:1B pixel ratio instead of the last gen 1R:4G:1B pentile design the F7 Pro and F7 Ultra are using.

75% fill is rarely ever seen in actual usage, 1100 nits is still good and it gets over 3500 nits at 25% fill which is seen in real life conditions a lot more when viewing the screen under sunlight outside. HDR performance is better on the F8 Pro too.

Better speakers on the F8 Pro, tons more depth to the sound, much louder and it has bass unlike the tinny sound profile of the F7 Pro. Soundstage is about the same. F8 Pro supports aptX lossless and better bose designed sound settings with actual number labels put in for the equalizer settings so you know the frequency range you are adjusting. If you look up the F8 Pro FAQ from Xiaomi you can read the features in more depth, a lot of the stuff that has been improved hasn't been added to gsmarena yet as it's a new phone without much interest as everyone buys either iphone or samsung these days on monthly instalments and ignores cheaper options.

The vapor chamber improvements along with the 8 elite gen 4 chip alone are worth the extra money if you like gaming. Lock FPS at 120 or 90 in most games without it even warming up and no thermal throttling, I tested a tiny cooler fan on the F8 Pro and it gets 30c steady on antutu v11, without a fan it got up to 43c without any throttling on ultimate mode enabled for system performance for 326000 score. I got about the same score with the cooler.

It's not like the F7 Pro is a bad phone, just for 99% of people the F8 Pro will be a much better choice especially that in Europe we had early bird for - £250 that I sadly missed but there was still a - £100 discount afterwards so was well worth it for me. I've used both and it was an easy choice with the F8 Pro.

I can guarantee you I would distinguish the difference between the two screens on a blind test, as the Poco F7 Pro screen is significantly brighter at an Auto (75% fill), with a score of 1478 nits, versus 1094 nits for the Poco F8 Pro screen, and the Poco F7 Pro has 1,706,440 more pixels then the Poco F8 Pro.

Re: “I didn't like the sound quality from the F7 Pro...”

Poco F8 Pro sound technology - 24-bit/192kHz Hi-Res & Hi-Res wireless audio with Bluetooth 5.4, A2DP, LE, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, LHDC 5.0, ASHA and Auracast.

Poco F7 Pro sound technology - 24-bit/192kHz Hi-Res & Hi-Res Wireless audio Snapdragon Sound with Bluetooth 5.4, A2DP, LE, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless and LHDC 5.

The Poco F7 Pro has aptX Lossless and Snapdragon Sound, whereas the Poco F8 Pro seems to be missing these features, which is a deal breaker for me, as I would be using my Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 4 - Smart Earbuds with these phones, and aptX Lossless is a feature of the aforementioned earbuds as is Snapdragon Sound.

Even if both phones were the same price, I would choose the The Poco F7 Pro over the Poco F8 Pro, because of its superior screen, but the Poco F7 Pro is 150 euro cheaper then the Poco F8 Pro, and the The Poco F7 Pro has Snapdragon Sound and aptX Lossless.

I believe that Xiaomi scored an own goal with Poco F8 Pro, when compared to the superior Xiaomi Poco F7 Ultra and the The Poco F7 Pro, which I believe is also a better phone, as it has a significantly better screen.

Crass, 02 Jan 2026The Xiaomi Poco F8 Pro has a 419 ppi - 120Hz AMOLED displa... moreYou forgot to research the display technology, the F8 Pro and Ultra are using an RGB pixel structure so while PPI is lower on spec sheets you don't have the downsides of the pentile pixel structure on the F7 Pro that uses additional green pixels for brightness meaning that while PPI is increased for green, red and blue have less PPI from less pixels with a pentile structure screen compared to an RGB panel that has the same amount of green red and blue pixels.

I had the F7 Pro before returning it and going for the F8 Pro as I didn't like the sound quality from the F7 Pro and the screen clarity is indistinguishable so with the RGB structure screen on the F8 Pro you get less power usage and better clarity at lower resolutions as the pixel count is even which is really good for phone gaming where you're usually running lower resolutions or when watching 1080p video.

                      The Xiaomi Poco F8 Pro has a 419 ppi - 120Hz AMOLED display with a resolution of 1156 x 2510 = 2,901,560 pixels

                      The previous Xiaomi Poco F7 Pro has a 526 ppi -120Hz AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels = 4,608,000 pixels.

Although the Poco F8 Pro has a faster Gpu and Cpu, then the Poco F7 Pro, the F7 Pro has a substantially higher resolution screen of 4,608,000 pixels (526 ppi) vs 2,901,560 pixels (419 ppi), which is something I would notice and prefer over a higher frame rate.

I can also buy the Xiaomi Poco F7 Pro for 410 Euro vs 550 Euro for the Xiaomi Poco F8 Pro.

I can see absolutely no reason to buy a Poco F8 Pro over the Poco F7 Pro, and I believe that Xiaomi substantially decreased the pixel count on the Poco F8 Pro, to make its Snapdragon 8 Elite and the Adreno 830 combo, look much faster then the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Adreno 750 combo on the Xiaomi Poco F7 Pro, which has to push 1,706,440 more pixels, over the Xiaomi Poco F8 Pro.

I would definitely prefer the sharper screen on the Xiaomi Poco F7 Pro, over the increased frame rate of the Xiaomi Poco F8 Pro.

This phone is great, I've been using it for nearly a week now but there are some downsides that need to be noted:
-Display settings is severely lacking with only 2 settings that are original color pro and vivid, no gamma adjust, no individual RGB sliders to control color temperature (you only get the circle paint pallet which is very inaccurate) and no way to clamp SRGB or DCI-P3.
-Scaling with some apps is broken, the curved edges cover some buttons and even the close button when an advert shows up depending on the program.
-Tons of ADs everywhere (f8 ultra has much less ADs which is honestly unacceptable for devices of this cost) unless you go and manually disable adverts from all of xiaomi apps or use a debloater then you can expect a ton of interruptions.

                        Everything else is great.
-Sound is decent that has a ton more depth and detail retrieval than the F7 Pro but the soundstage is kinda lacking at times although you can only expect so much from tiny phone speakers.
-The display is great although it could do with better factory calibration as my screen has a slight green tinge to everything (my old poco F3 had similar but the much better display settings let me calibrate it really well).
-Ergonomics is good, I have slightly smaller hands so I struggle with reaching the screen with just one thumb on other bigger phones and this feels perfect with the curved edges making adjustments to reach the top of the screen easy even with a phone case (I use the case provided with the phone, no complaints with it apart that it could do with a bit of texturing in some places to improve grip).
-Haptic feedback is honestly very well done and blends perfectly with the sound capabilities.
-Cameras are passable nothing revolutionary but nothing bad either.

I will further update in the future, if you have any specific questions then reply here and I will check from once in a while and try to answer.

The bad part is that fingerprint scanner is not in the power button which makes it barely usable. All these "under the screen" sensor are PITA to use.

Honestly the phone this phone is pretty good
It has a decent camera especially with good light

                            It's processor is really good
It feels premium looks premium and feels Durable

And for the price of 29k PHP or 500 usd+ it's pretty worth it
Especially since Poco does a lot of deals (I got mine at 25k PHP) for the specs it gives it's pretty worth it

PS: ALWAYS DEBLOAT YOUR XIAOMI DEVICES (the amount of bloatware is crazy)
