Vlad, 18 Apr 2023I agree that the Redmi 10c is better. I has a better chips... moreYou are greatly overestimating your Redmi 10C xD, there is actually no noticeable difference between the Helio G85 and the Snapdragon 680, they are the same chipset crap xD. You'll have some advantage with UFS storage with a lower-end chipset plus the extra millisecond to open apps, mind 18W fast charging on the Redmi 10C but come with a 10W charger like the Redmi 12C? xD

DJ, 18 Apr 2023Can anyone let me know about its camera performance ?I own one and my opinion is that it's totally unimpressive. In good lighting the results are quite natural and not oversaturated. However, with some background light the camera easily gets overexposed, and the HDR doesn't do a great job at fixing that. Detail level is decent around the landscape, even with complex structures like leaves, I'm quite pleased with the detail it captures (for the price level).
However, the camera's faults are much more evident on the front camera. I'd recommend you to look elsewhere if selfie camera is important to you. First, the photos lack contrast, skin tones are pale and not true to life. It's hard to find a position where the camera captures natural-looking skin, and when there is light in the background, the HDR is really bad, period. It rarely gets a photo "right".
On top of that, there is softness to the selfies, I don't like oversharpened selfies either but these ones (with beauty mode off) still look too soft. And they get muddy even during the day under the shade, so imagine how it will be in the evening.
Night photos I'll call them passable because they aren't very different from other budget phones, which means, poor. If you take a photo with sufficient indoor lighting and keep it for yourself, it's ok, but don't expect amazing results.
So to sum up, overall I think the camera aspect of this phone is nothing special, but it's acceptable for the price. If average to good daylight pictures are enough for you, or you just take occasional photos and don't need the best photos to share on social media, I think this will meet your demands.
But if you want a more balanced and versatile camera setup, or if the selfie camera is something you use often and is one of your priorities, my strong recommendation is to add some more money and buy a phone from the Redmi Note series (or Samsung Galaxy A14).
For the price difference the Note 11/12 will give you more "camera for the buck" than this.

Anonymous2, 16 Apr 2023why better?I agree that the Redmi 10c is better.
I has a better chipset (SD 680 vs Helio G85), faster storage (emmc 5.1 vs ufs 2.2), USB type C instead of Micro (is really surprising the 12C is more modern but has Micro USB) and faster charging (18w vs 10w).
The only thing the 12C is better is the newer Bluetooth (5.1 vs 5.0) which nobody cares and is not even the last version (that would be 5.3). It can also have more memory RAM, which I don't think it matters, considering the chipset and screen resolution (4Gb should be plenty).

Anonymous, 15 Apr 2023This phone is budget perfection by Xiaomi. Everything about... moreI disagree with this, let me tell you why. In 2021 for the same price you could get a Redmi 9t with 6000 mAh battery, 1080p screen (I'm just surprised that Xiaomi decided to sell a 720p screen in 2023), UFS storage, an Ultrawide camera, 13 mp vs a 5mp front camera, and usb - C charging (I lack words to describe my disappointment at micro USB in 2023). It seems to me like Xiaomi are regressing, they're not even no. 1 in India any more. I was shopping for a family member and had a really hard time finding a good cheap phone. The phone market looked much better three years ago when I bought the Redmi Note 8 which is holding up quite well to this day. Maybe it's because of COVID 🤷♂️.

This phone is budget perfection by Xiaomi. Everything about it is just ok, but very good considering it is so affordable.
For under 150$ you get:
A large, LCD screen with 500 nits is good for this segment
Good-looking and sturdy plastic build
Helio G85, yes it's old but it's stable and reliable for everyday tasks and even some gaming. Better than many Unisocs used by some of the competition
Good RAM and Storage configurations + microSD as a separate slot. Memory extension for a little multitasking boost.
50MP main cam + 5MP selfie, just the basic, but enough for most people's daily snapping needs
5000mAh battery, with low power requirements, will definitely last 2 days
FM Radio, Wi-Fi 5Ghz and NFC are very appreciated, particularly the latter, at this price point
Cheap phone with feature-rich MIUI13 (and 14 will come soon)
In conclusion, the only thing that really annoys me is Micro-USB port in a 2023 phone, they probably thought they had to cut somewhere to convince budget oriented consumers to pay more for more expensive models of their lineup. That and the lackluster 10W charging, but I believe the battery life is good enough so that you only have to charge overnight.

Really bad phone. It has started hanging within 10-12 days of it's purchase. Camera is just basic. The phone gets heated up while travelling outside in sun, & camera does not work during that time, stating the phone is heated up the most.
I was a goodwill customer of Redmi, but i didn't like the Redmi 12c because of my experience with new phone hanging very option.
