ItadoriUG, 23 Jan 2024No worries, I think it's a great choice for an upgrade... moreHey, it's me again. I've finally bought this phone yesterday, and it is indeed such an upgrade over my old Redmi 7. The phone is so blazing fast with so much feature that it overwhelmed me lol.
I however wanted to add that the speaker may be sounding a bit too thin for your taste, which in my case the sound quality is noticeably a downgrade compared to my old Redmi 7. Though with such a good overall spec you get for that low price, I think it's fair tradeoff

ItadoriUG, 23 Jan 2024No worries, I think it's a great choice for an upgrade... moreYou really nailed it, I'm using the 6/128 version too and the phone doesn't lag when playing cod but I once put the phone in a bucket of water when it's hot but not that hot but I really want to know if it was a water resistant but water entered the speaker only and I dried it off with towel but the phone don't have any issues... Have u tried the water resistant aspect?

Will this phone get Android 14 along with hyperOS? I heard that it won't receive any update ever.

I have the 4gb version, it was sluggish initially but when I extended ram its quite fast. It has wonderful battery, camera lacks 0.5 though. Speakers are the worst thing about the phone. Overall its an ok.

Depends on your own budget, I personally love it for the time. Can play games like Genshin and PUBg just fine, with enough space to spare and so on. I don't particularly take pictures so for me it's clear enough and all that. Same with the speaker and sound on call.

Ironcraft, 22 Jan 2024Well, looking from the review's photos, I think the ph... moreNo worries, I think it's a great choice for an upgrade, along with Realme C51, which is around the same price. The camera on that is almost the same as this and works well, as well as with 33w charging, it's a good contender as well. Only downside to that is the slower processor and less ram/rom (My brother has it so did a direct comparison)
For anyone else who might be looking to buy it, I'll share a detailed review on how I found this phone as a daily driver:
Screen: it's good and decently bright, and the 90hz really does make it look and feel smooth. I've seen people complain that it's only 720p but unless you stick your eyes to the screen, you wouldn't be able to tell lol so it's fine imo the notch on this is also v small so that's a plus as well
Battery: The battery is decent, j use a note 9S as well so I've got an 18W charger, it does help in charging it quicker. It usually charges between 1 or 1 and a half hour and lasts quite a bit. I use it with 50 percent brightness for the majority of the day and with a screen on time of around 10-12 hours, with moderate use (social media, messages, calls) it drops down to around 30 percent at the end of the day. I played Genshin on it today for 2 hours straight and it took the battery down around 18%. Bottom line, the battery is good
Calls and texts: The call quality on this is good, the ear piece is decently loud and clear. Haptics on this are also v good for this price and it feels pleasant to type on it.
Camera: Camera is decent for the price. If you're good at taking pictures, you'll be able to do so but for the average person, this will be good enough. The camera interface is p basic and doesn't have a pro mode so I usually edit pictures after the fact to make them better. It also supports camera2api i.e GCAM which significantly improves the picture quality imo. I don't usually use the front camera but it looks comparable to my Note 9S but since I haven't used it, can't really say much of it. I also compared the cameras with the Redmi 12C and there is definitely a substantial upgrade from the 12C, though it may not show on paper.
Performance: I have the 6/128 version and it's v smooth. I usually multi task a lot on this like I use Chrome and I use some other work applications on this is well like Slack, WhatsApp a lot and in the past month of using it hasn't really hanged or lagged once which is really good. There's no option for floating window or split screen which is a bummer but I've never really used them on my Note 9S as well so I don't really feel like that's a loss.
Gaming: The G85 is a good enough processor especially with 6gb or more RAM. I've played PUBG, COD, Skullgirls, Mobile Legends and the heaviest of all, Genshin Impact lol the former were mostly on high settings and Genshin plays on lowest settings. Gaming was fun and I rarely faced any lag or frame skipping (maybe once in an hour) and the phone doesn't get too hot as well after 2 hours of Genshin, which surprised me
Cons: The biggest cons on this phone are, in my opinion are related to MIUI
A. It comes preinstalled with so much bloatware, lol, it's crazy and some of it you can't even delete or remove like YouTube Music for example and some other useless Google apps.
B. The Xiaomi built in apps like file manager, mi videos etc have so many ads in them that you'd wanna delete them but you can't smh
C. The Control center is the old MIUI one, which I remember using on Xiaomi 4A and you can't use the newer control center. I don't like the look of the old one so that's just me maybe.
It feels like they put a trimmed down version or MIUI on this which makes you take the phone less seriously than it is.
My conclusion: I think it's a good phone for the price, there are some setbacks here n there but nothing that you can't live without. It covers all the essentials and then some for a good price.
Another phone in this range I can recommend is the Realme C51, which is similar but in some ways better and some ways worse than this so you can compare and choose the one that better meets your needs.
I hope this was helpful for anyone reading this. Will comment further if someone asks something or I come across some issues in reference to the usage of this phone.

Ironcraft, 21 Jan 2024If I'm going to upgrade to Redmi 13C from say, a Redmi... moreI think it's a good upgrade from a Redmi 7. The battery is good but the camera is just so-so. If you're a good photographer then I'm sure you can get some good shots out of it but for the average person, the camera will just take pictures but nothing to write home about. I have the 6/128 version and the performance and battery has been great though. It lasts around 5-7 hours playing Genshin, depending on brightness and I usually charged at around 30% with an 18W charger and it takes an hour to charge to 100%. On casual use, WhatsApp/calls/texts/insta/Spotify/YouTube, it usually lasts with a screen on time of around 15-20 hours, again depending on brightness

If I'm going to upgrade to Redmi 13C from say, a Redmi 7, would it still be a good upgrade? I mainly look for the camera and battery, and I don't have much budget to spend (this phone is at my maximum budget)

Gab, 02 Jan 2024Is the 4GB+128GB good enough for redmi note 12?Think it's wise to choose 8gb, 4gb starts to feel sluggish when you have multiple apps on, especially after a while. For me 8gb gives a lot better experience than 4. I will not be able to go bellow 8gb for the next phone I will get, or 12gb even more likely.

13c has very limited features. No split screen, no 0.5 cam. Cam resolution max is 1080p. I think it's fair for its price tho. I've bought it for 4k pesos. Don't buy it because of the ram. Check the phone's features first. Old units are better than this like redmi 9T & redmi note 8 (4gb)
