Xiaomi Redmi 14R unveiled with Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC and 120Hz screen

The Redmi 14C introduced last month is now joined by the 'R' model. The Redmi 14R is built around a 6.88" 120Hz HD+ LCD with 600 nits peak brightness and support for wet touch.

The Redmi 14R has the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC at the helm with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, expandable by up to 1TB via a microSD card. The smartphone runs Android 14-based HyperOS out of the box.

For photography, you get a 13MP primary camera on the rear, joined by an unknown unit, and on the front is a 5MP camera for selfies and video calls. Keeping the lights on is a 5,160 mAh battery with 18W charging support.

The rest of the Redmi 14R's highlights include a dedicated microSD card slot, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Redmi 14R comes in four colors with four memory options - 4GB/128GB, 6GB/128GB, 8GB/128GB, and 8GB/256GB, priced at CNY1,099 ($155/€140/INR12,995), CNY1,499 ($210/€190/INR17,725), CNY1,699 ($240/€215/INR20,090), and CNY1,899 ($265/€240/INR22,455), respectively. The smartphone will be sold in China through Xiaomi's website, but its availability in other markets is unknown.

Yeah, the storage type depends of the SoC

I don't dislike this design for a budget phone. It isn't anything mindbogglingly new but at least it differs quite a lot from the previous gen. It certainly looks more posh than it probably is.
