all the hype created around this mobile is fake, fake publicity, xiaomi saying 40k or 60k or 1 lakh mobiles sold in 4 or 5 seconds bla bla bla...it is all fake...xiaomi true color was revealed in flipkarts big billion day, in that day 1.5 lakhs of redmi 1s were taken 6 hours to sold (it is in stock from 8 am to 2:30 pm) which is a shame for xiaomi

I've got the 1S for 2 months now and recent rom upgrades have fixed the overheating and low memory symptoms somewhat. But the fixes introduced new problems. First overheating was dealt with by throttling the cpu to 900Mhz causing laggy response. 600Mb of zram space was created to deal with low memory also causing (ironically) lag. Combined with a horribly bloated miui rom, the problem isn't going away sufficiently.
But the bigger issue is the level of viral marketer fanboyism on the official forums where problems like the above were brushed off as extremely minor/exaggerated and excuses like 'what do you expect from a $100 phone' were thrown about.
@kart- The Holly seems to be the better buy going by the specs on paper, but otg support doesn't seem to be listed

Using this phone for last 1 week. Nice phone but facing heating issue. Battery backup is 1day maximum under normal usage. after using Greenify app problem solved a bit but looking forward to kitkat update.

Hi Everybody, i am using the red mi 1s last 20 days, this phone is very good , performance is very nice. but on the charging time its create a very high type of the heat from the back side. overall performance is very good.camera quality also very nice.
