Those who are facing issue of battery draining and heating issue, you can install custom rom CM 11 from here http://en.miui.com/thread-48935-1-1.html, plz install R5 version currently R6 is buggy, i have already installed this rom and this rom is perfect for daily task and the battery is awesome and there is no heating issue.

To solve heating issue ..root your phone then download setCPU on google play store..then frequency adjust to max 1094. and. Min 300mhz. These work well solve heating issue and battery life increased to 50%. more....SetCPU is better than no frills CPU..

Screen-audio-compatability-camera-wifi/internet connection... All the above features are extraordinary. Ordinary is the battery life. I am using the phone due to my work 24/7 and i must be online the most of the day (actually i am on line 24/7). The batery is drainning within 24 hours. Typical android phone batery life. Value for money. HIGHLY RECOMMENED. When i bought this phone i realise how much Euros spent during my life only to have an overpriced brand with only the half of these that XiaoMi offers.My next phone will be XiaoMi also.

Hello friends.. I u sing this phone from last 3days. I hv checked all things in this phone expect games. The positive points of this phone is
Good battery life
Nice camera
Low light image is very excellent
Smooth touch
Launcher is nice
Sound quality is nice
But there are some bad things like
The feather touch button doesn't have LED lights
Cannot store apps in external sd card
Ram is 1gb but available for user is only 250 mb because too much running apps. And u cannot stop them
Because of low remaining ram launcher loads some time
Manually cut paste data to external sd card even whats app media
I found no heating problem in this phone right now.
If you are looking for budget phone. This phone is preferreble.

i am take this handset recently 10 day back
execlanet feture on this phone.i am happy to take this phone.
camera is good 8mp,just i video call good quality
cup is very fast 1.6 gigahearts,tempal run game play very smoothly &battary back up is only 1 day because only RS 5999 phone you getting Rs 15000 like that feture. so am very happy to take this phone
screen size is perfect for me not big & not small ......nothing like anyting........
i appreciate for china mobile ....to given low price
very good phone.
only am not happy with battray back up .....
when coming kikkat update for this phone mordal of mobile excelent........
i am from pune.......6 oct,2014 thake this phone from
filpkart just Rs 5999 .........
but i am wait for this handset for 4 sell 5th seling i am purchase this handset ........
whats is MIUI vesion plz tell me anyone for this regarding .................

To solve heat prob.Root ur redmi 1s.After that install SetCPU n set ur redmi 1s cpu to 1.2-1.3Ghz
