This phone struggles to perform even the most basic tasks smoothly. I've been using it for about 8 months now. I don't play any games on this. Just WhatsApp, YouTube and some social media. This phone lags and stutters almost constantly.
The camera is especially really laggy. Opening the camera app takes at least more than 5 seconds. Taking a picture and then opening it takes another >5 seconds. Video from the camera horribly stutters when EIS is on. So many times I have recorded a video, only to later find out that the video has barely 5 fps. At this point I have stopped using EIS altogether.
I don't know if there is something wrong with just my phone. The issues were the same in both MIUI 12 and 13, and Android 11 and 12. I have factory reset the phone several times.... It didn't solve it either.
I have used Redmi 4x before and I was happy with it. But after this, I am never going to buy a Xiaomi phone again.

I am using this phone for last 3 months and i find that my auto brightness is not working well. Some times it gets full even in the indoor. I update it MIUI 13 but its not fixed. I am also facing some other software issues but the auto brightness bug is very irritating & noticable. Hardware is good for day to day usage, not for gaming because it get very hot when playing games like pubg. Battery time is awesome. My English is not very good, so hope you get my point. Plz tell me that you're also facing issues with the auto brightness or not.

And concerning camera, I own this phone since one year and I am amazed with the camera quality for this price range with some editing with the built in gallery they become great. In low light conditions, both phones offer acceptable but not great photos. And for close objects, the macro camera behave well.

But for one handed mode, it became tremendously bad and non useful, instead of minimizing the screen to the right or left, if minimizes it vertically downward, and when you press the app it returns to full screen. Veryyy bad

..... moreAll apps work properly in miui 13 for me, smooth. I don't really notice the SMS, because I very rarely, almost never use it except to receive spammy advertisement SMSes from my local tele operator.
Also for the poster below, I don't notice about one handed operation, maybe I set & use my phone differently than yours. I set my phone as close as possible as my experience in iPhone's iOS, as how I used to, so maybe many people here wouldn't like it haha.. and all are smooth.
That's why I like MiUI, in this case the v13, because for people like me who like & used to use iPhone, it's the closest one to iOS, smooth, even better with Android's many customize possibilities, and many free (and cra*k, LOL) apps I can install... and it's much cheaper than iPhones.. this is good.. perfect phone, OS, and UI for me.

..download only on wifi.. Does not download with mobile Internet..tried at least 10/15 times. Finally tried with wifi and update was downloaded.. Also problems with sms.. Sender will get a received tick (double tick), but sms will not received. A few applications not working properly.. Takes a lot of time to connect and download content..
Sms app and problematic apps were reinstalled..tried with Google messages also, but problematic.. Even Sim card was removed and again put.. But problems did not go away..

Did anybody notice how bad one handed mode became after MIUI 13 update? It became a one handed mode in vertical, this is not a one handed mode, I want it horizontal minimize the screen to the right or left not vertical. Very bad one handed mode.
