Got this as a replacement for my Redmi note 9 pro. This phone is far worse than the extremely good Note 9 pro. So many issues with functionality. I can't do many basic things with it. Toggling between apps causes them to restart which is a nightmare. Phone calls aren't displayed so I can't answer them. Camera is rubbish compared to previous phone. It lags, apps like messaging crash constantly. Worst phone I've had since the iPhone 3G

My Redmi Note 12 4G is very slow now. I've been using it for over 7 months, but it's been 4 months since I started using it.
Even playing Mobile Legend with the lowest setting but in game experience is very bad. I'm very regret choose this one.

Just updated to HyperOS, After the update,
Laggy System, UI, animation extremely delayed,
This phone has problem in app compatibility, processing, and UI problem.
-After the update, it uses 4g+
-Tall screen
-Default camera app, captures immediately without any focusing process, and it uses AI to fix the image... I downloaded a third party camera and it works much better quality.
-Navigation using swipe is unresponsive.
-Some Apps are EXTREMELY restricted in system, Some apps won't run when developers option is ON, some are restricted to modify/access files system.
-When new, battery drains faster, if you don't restrict app that works in background. Disabled/Deleted useless pre-installed apps, fixed. Wifi consume more battery as they're secretly updating each app using built-in game center(app store). Battery drains but it also depends on usage.
-Quick charge heats up battery a little bit. Not recommended use it all the time.
Conclusion:
Bought it under ₱6000(Secondhand not refurbished) Good for its price for simple daily multitasking, good for social media and casual game but not recommended for heavy gamer.

Upgraded hyperos,trust me,dont waste your time upgrading your mobile,my phone become slower. A useable phone becomes unuseable because of the update. Xiaomi intentionally ruins the experience so that you will buy a new one again. Very bad

Go to settings -- about phone -- detailed info and specs -- click repeatedly on OS version until you see there written 'you are now a developer'
Then search for animator duration scale
Try switching animator duration scale from 1x to 0.5x, also switch the window animation scale to 0.5x and transition animation scale to 0.5x.
This can't solve the bugs you are facing but it will speed up the response time of your swipe gestures.

Opu, 08 Mar 2024Is battery drain quickly when internet connection on?No I didn't notice any quick battery drain when the internet was on. The battery drain was normal. If 120 Hz is on and you are using social media or YouTube then it drops 7 to 7.5% per of battery per hour of screen on time.
If you charge it from 20 to 80% daily then on normal to medium level usage you are gonna get 7 to 8 hours of screen on time. (If 120 hz is off then you will get another 40 to 50 minutes of more screen on time)

You can change the control centre and other stuff from the settings and make it like the older one. You can also change the style of apps in ram section whether vertical or horizontal etc. from the settings.

I don't need more memory i expect good display. I... moreEven if you don't need more memory it is still better to get at least 6gb 128gb variant because 4gb ram is too low in 2024 while if you go for 8gb then it would be even better.
Also as the storage will fill up after a few months or 1 year then the phone will slow down so it's better to have at least 128 gb storage in 2024.
If you play PUBG then this phone is not recommendable for it but if you play COD mobile or Asphalt 9 type games then this phone runs them well on low to medium graphics.
Camera wise it's decent in daylight, if you can edit a bit after capturing then it can produce good photos too.
Everything else is very good on this phone, display is very good , 120 hz is fine
Battery charges quickly and lasts 1 to 1.25 days depending upon your usage
I am using it for the last 2 months (8gb version), it's working very well overall.

If it continues then backup your data and factory reset it
As the UI is a bit heavier and processor is of medium level not too much powerful so you will need to make a few changes (btw I am using the same phone with 8 gb ram variant and it is working fine)
Try removing all the apps from the ram section if you are finished using them.
Keep the least icons and widgets on the home screen to make it a smoother experience.
Disable unnecessary background processes and uninstall or delete bloatware apps that are using background or internet resources. Also disable lock screen wallpaper changing themes if you have applied already.
Check your Internet speed if it's slow or fast when you experience email opening issues.
Try to make sure you don't use over 80% of your total storage. Like in 128 gb storage, make sure not to let it go beyond 100 GB.
Turn down 'animator duration scale' from 1x to 0.5x from the developor options, this does make a difference.
You can see on YouTube how to enable developer options in android 13 MIUI. From the settings menu you will need to go to developer options to do this.
Btw how much ram variant are you using 4, 6 or 8 ?
