I eventually bought the phone and I report that yes, Dimensity 1080 has HEVC 10bit support, at least that's what MXPlayer is saying.

Hello everyone! Does Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G (Dimensity 1080) have video hardware decoding for HEVC/H.265 10bit?
My old Redmi Note 10s has and I'm looking to get a new phone. I've bought the Motorola G84 but lacks support for 10bit, even if it has hardware accelerated playback for HEVC, so I had to return it. I don't want to repeat the process with Note 12 Pro :)
*you can see the hardware support in MXPlayer, for example, in the Settings -> Decoder -> HW+ video codecs.

Immediately it received Android 13 with MIUI 14, and recently Hyper OS i.e. Android 14. If it is the end of line, I'm dissapointed, because I went from Android 12 to 14 in barely 3 months. Too fast. The problem is that this mobile phone came with Android 12 and not with Android 13 out of the box, which shortened its support by Xiaomi. We will see whether Xiaomi will provide Android 15 or not.

It is ratio smart phone under its price. When i was update hyper os then some application not opened any time shows big fix so hyper os is bad software. AHA eBook reader not support. This problem must be fix as soon as possible.

The only problem I have discovered is that Xiaomi Note 12 Pro 5G has weak 5GHz wifi antenna, it works only in close proximity to the router. Side to side comparison with an old Samsung A50 phone shows that Samsung has much more sensitive 5GHz wifi reception.

For its price, it's a great deal, camera is decent, the screen is awesome, pure fluid 120hz, i compared it to an S23 Ultra and surprisingly, the note 12 pro's display has less ghosting than the S23U.
Battery is also good, browsing a few hours without problems.
3.5mm jack lets me listen to music while charging the phone
Bonus : infrared sensor!!! it's a rare feature these days, and there's so much fun messing around with TV's in markets and food venues
