- mediatek performance as of now is pretty good and stellar, my dimensity 1100 can run ps 2 emulator in 2,5x resolution casted to TV without MHL support and run stable without hiccup for hours even rivaling my SD 865 devices
- gcam is so overrated that it always come with bugs and bad video recording,, to add to it the photo not always apeearing in the gallery/3rd party app
- custom rom in my experience wirh my past phone will always have big issue/bug and worse game performance for example in my poco f2 the underscreen fingerprint will perform bad and worse than stock MIUI rom and gaming will stutter even with the lightes rom.
- no oversharpen or whatever thing you say, maybe you using cheap phone with bad screen, my X3 GT screen actually looks good especially when only using LCD
Please stop the hate, just kinda sad to see people in this site overhate mediatek and MIUI.

This phone is much better:
-> newer software a13 instead of a12
->sd cpu(no hate for mediatek, but developers tend to optimise for sd)
->gcam support
->custom rom support(so you don't have to stick with miui, just your choice) at least you have a choice. lol
->no display over sharpening (an issue that is widely neglected by the mainstream, but it bothers me) mediatek processors algorithm tend to over sharpen things, to show more details, this way they loose their naturalness.

The Redmi Note 12 SE has the Samsung HM2 sensor while the Realme 9 Pro+ has the Samsung HM6 sensor (slightly better).
If you are buying a phone in this range for good camera, consider the Redmi Note 12 Pro too. (Similar specs but with a Sony IMX766 sensor)
