Being in an off state (which means no photons are emitted) is considered 100% off so to speak, in other words its black level is 0. Actually black holes contain a lot of photons, it's just due to its insane amount of gtavity photons are "spiraling there" so to speak. I would say the black level of a black hole is actually quite high, just can't measure it from the outside 😅

Anonymous, 03 Feb 2024Doesn't change the fact that oled burns and pwm is a PITA. Just a quick question, does PWM affect the frame rate of a phone the lower the brightness level is set, by that I mean if at 20% brightness the amoled turns off the display 80% of the time to simulate a lower brightness level then on a 120hz screen (120 frames a second) some of those frames must fall within the pwm off cycle surely .
It's just I find amoled frame rate look odd the lower I put the brightness but on an lcd it doesn't.

Hello Moto, 02 Sep 2023But there is still no such thing as infinite contrast ratio... moreInfinite is relative, on some oled smartphone (sonys for one) the screens look dark grey when turned off, the Bezel surrounding the phone is darker black than the screens themselves , infinite blacks would have to escape all light, so unless your using your smartphone in a black hole nothing is infinite just off, and isn't that the elephant in the corner, amoleds claim to fame is the fact your really just looking at a turned off screen .

Hello Moto, 20 Sep 2023We're talking about phones, not tvs. this is gsmarena,... moreObviously we talking about the "panel" which available on many devices like TV, refrigerator, etc. Oh, and it actually available on "phone" too. I know that you prefer to compare the panel on a toaster vs on a phone but come on lol.

But what is your come back on those 3 negative points that I pointed out since you're the one that claim "Oled is far superier in every dimension" vs LCD tech. If you forget, here I will make it easier for you by make it very short and this time no TV since it's too hard for you to think of a come back even though it's the same panel and same tech on both TV and phone lol:

                        1. Expensive.
                        2. Dim.
                        3. The panel literally slowly commit suicide.

Best, 08 Sep 2023Just wait for 13t, that's what I'm waiting for. Use a frequency checker like kimovil.com to find out that

Hello Moto, 02 Sep 2023But there is still no such thing as infinite contrast ratio... moreOLED is not really "far superior in every dimension" at all.

First, OLED is much more expensive. The current best OLED TV is Samsung S95C 65" cost ~$3,000, while the current best Mini LED are Hisense U8K 65" and TCL QM8 65" both cost just ~$1,000. WIth the money of S95C I would just buy 3 U8Ks and put it surround me lol.

Second, OLED generally dimmer. Both the Mini LEDs overall performance are just as good as the OLED, almost the same black levels and contrast and none of the drawbacks of OLED while far more brighter, at 50% window the Mini LEDs are at ~1,500 nit, the OLED only at ~300 nit.

Third, OLED burn-in. Burn in isn't a possibility with OLED, it's a guarantee. It's just a question of when. With OLED it's essentially a baby that you need to be careful and need to take care of, and is a consumable product that you need buy a new one every few years depends on your luck at a premium price.

The higher the brightness, the higher the voltage, the more heat generated, the more you use it, the faster it dim out, the faster it burn-in. Every time you turn it on the pixels are dying, it literally photobleach every time you use it. It also means your picture quality and color accuracy are subtly degrading in nonlinear ways as time goes on.

WOLED is already burn fast enough to be a big problem, the new QD-OLED even worse with burn-in. RTINGS tested QD-OLED and it burn-in in 2 months lol. Don't want it to get burn-in? Don't turn it on.

(On MIUI 14.0.6.0) Phone heats up fast while gaming (Can easily reach 45c on 10mins of heavy gaming) and also battery drains fast even when just browsing. I hope this is just a software problem. Kinda regret buying this if this doesn't get solved.

The display is quite good. Also the specs are good. I got the black version and it looks sleek and sexy. The phone is all plastic (except the display obviously) but you can't really tell if you're looking at it.

I can't speaking for the oneplus ace racing but im very happy with the Note 12T Pro. I got the 12GB+256GB version on jd.com for ¥1599 RMB
