Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 5G review

GSMArena Team, 18 February 2025.

Introduction

When on a budget, a Redmi Note is usually the first phone most people would consider. And this fully applies to the Redmi Note 14 5G, which is shaping up to be one of the hottest offers priced around €300.

The Redmi Note 14 5G builds on its predecessor with a refreshed design, improved build, faster performance, stereo speakers, upgraded cameras, and speedier battery charging. There are more updates here than across the entire Galaxy S25 series, heh!

The new Redmi Note 14 5G brings a slightly redesigned body and camera housing, sprinkled with new colors. The phone has gotten an IP64 rating for improved dust and splash resistance. The display appears to be quite similar - 6.67" 1080p AMOLED with 120Hz refresh rate - but it now supports HDR10+ and its peak brightness has doubled.

There is a new chipset inside the Redmi Note 14 5G too - the Dimensity 7025 Ultra with a faster CPU and GPU. This year, most markets will get the 8GB/256GB version as the base one, though there is a 6GB/128GB version in existence too.

There are still three cameras on the back - a 108MP primary (now with optical image stabilization), an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP imager for macro shots instead of depth sensing purposes. The selfie camera resolution has been upped to 20MP.

The Redmi Note 14 5G is powered by a 5,000mAh battery, which now supports fast charging up to 45W. The upgrades continue with two stereo speakers and an under-display fingerprint sensor.

I can't really add to this review's take on the cameras because I'm a basic "point and shoot on full auto" photographer and I don't take too many photos in the first place. They look fine to me but so do most photos take...

Never download stock ROM from some 3rd party website for rooting your phone. Always download your firmware directly from official xiaomi server!!!
