-, 10 Jan 2025Redmi is moving towards being an offline brand, and those u... moreThe redmi devices were the bread and butter of Xiaomi where I am as they were offered by the network providers and in physical stores. If they make them mostly online offerings like Pocos, the Pocos will probably overshadow them in presence so it would be still consistent with a suspicion that they are phasing the Redmi brand out for the Poco. Or changing their positionings and moving Poco upmarket while downgrading the Redmi brand. They haven't got anything left to rebrand for the moment but the k80 and k80 pro for the global market as f7 and f7 pro and those would be way more premium in every aspect than the global redmi 14 series. This is my purely speculative suggestion.

EDIT: They made the Redmi Turbo an F series last year but that's an X7 Pro now so there's that too.

Poco is mostly an online brand, though in some countries they sell them both offline and online as a super value for money/performance oriented counterpart to Redmi (though the base SKUs might only be sold online)

              Wtf Xiaomi! Hahaha for real? This e-waste is definitely a downgrade of Chinese version and same sh*t as RN 13 Pro+ with a different SOC. Hahaha RN 10 Pro is still the best Note Series from Xiaomi/Redmi. Shame on you Xiaomi...

                    where's my telephoto xiaomi

                      I suspect Xiaomi is making a hard pivot towards the Poco series in the global market for midrangers. This will become clear once we see the F7 series official. If they rebrand the k80 and k80 pro without downgrades to me it would mean a hard push for Poco devices.

                        Smaller battery, no telephoto? Such a big downgrade. Chinese version was worth it, but global version absolutely no.

                          They deserve to sell zero units of this version.

This model have a better main camera which is more useful than a low quality telephoto lens.

                                  They use the same macro and ultrawide that was used on redmi note 8 back in 2019 plus who even uses macro cameras??? Still no 4k60fps recording and I don't understand what is the need for a 200mp camera that has the picture quality of a samsung 12mp. And why do you need such a long name like wth

                                    Hands down the worst Redmi Note, it's just the 13 Pro+ but with minimal changes

                                      So a massive downgrade compared to the non-global variant, and barely an upgrade compared to the Note 13 Pro+, entirely pointless phone good job Xiaomi!

                                        So only the Chinese variant gets the telephoto? Great, another big brain move by Xiaomi
