Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro+ (Global) review
Curved 6.67-inch OLED
The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ features the same curved OLED panel from last year. It measures 6.67" in diagonal and features a fairly standard 1,220 x 2,717px resolution. The display also has high-end features such as 12-bit color depth, 120Hz refresh rate, and Dolby Vision and HDR10+ certification.
As far as performance goes, we measured 490 nits of maximum brightness in manual mode and up to 1,200 nits in auto mode. It's not the brightest display around, but 1,200 nits are perfectly fine even in the brightest environment.
Refresh rate
The handset has three refresh rate modes - Default, 60Hz and 120Hz. The first lets the system choose the appropriate refresh rate for the scenario, while the other two set a static refresh rate.
However, the Default mode doesn't seem to lower the refresh rate and keeps it at 120Hz at all times, for some reason. The system would still dial down to 60Hz when using apps and when the screen is idle. Video players and streaming apps, such as Netflix and YouTube, outright force 60Hz as soon as you launch them.
Battery life
The global Redmi Note 14 Pro+ has a 5,110 mAh, which is not much bigger than last year's 5000mAh, but it's a high-density battery, which should have improved performance in sub-zero temps.
The Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 is supposed to be energy-efficient, although this didn't show up in the results.
The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ had a rather underwhelming battery endurance with particularly weak web browsing and video playback scores. That's not far from last year's Redmi Note 13 Pro+, but it's way behind the competition.
Charging speed
Just like last year's Redmi Note 13 Pro+, the 14 Pro+ easily beats the competition in charging race. The device supports 120W fast charging using Xiaomi's HyperCharge proprietary protocol, and it can fill up the 5,110 mAh battery in just 21 minutes, which is even slightly faster than last year.
One interesting tidbit is that the high-density battery used here can be charged at as low as -20C, something which is not possible with the global Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G, which has the same battery but a different BMS chip.
No competitor can come even close to the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ in charging speed. This arguably compensates for the underwhelming battery life result.
Speakers
The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ relies on a hybrid speaker setup - one full-fledged speaker at the bottom and one that acts as an earpiece as well. There are two grilles for sound outlets at the bottom and top side of the frame to balance things out, but the bottom speaker is noticeably louder. This is to be expected.
Regarding overall loudness, the 14 Pro+ scored "Good" with -26.5 LUFS, which is around the same as last year's Redmi Note 13 Pro+. That's not very loud, but it ain't bad either.
Sound quality, on the other hand, sees a slight improvement. The Redmi Note 14 Pro+'s sound is slightly fuller now, with more prominent bass without muffling the vocals and mids. We are generally satisfied with the speakers' quality.
Use the Playback controls to listen to the phone sample recordings (best use headphones). We measure the average loudness of the speakers in LUFS. A lower absolute value means a louder sound. A look at the frequency response chart will tell you how far off the ideal "0db" flat line is the reproduction of the bass, treble, and mid frequencies. You can add more phones to compare how they differ. The scores and ratings are not comparable with our older loudspeaker test. Learn more about how we test here.

Watch your step here as you might actually want a flagship phone instead of mid range one.

Despite the same main camera sensor the camera results definitely seem worse, especially in daylight photos. In fact the Redmi note 13 pro and pro+ last year seemed to have better camera performance
