When it comes to android phones, I only had two brands: Samsung and Xiaomi. Xiaomi phones are so much more resistant than Samsung's

I don't understand what's the problem of the other reviewers complaining about this 2015 value for money phone today on 2022. They are completely out of context. The phone at the time I bought it (2016) was extremely fast comparable to Samsung and apple flagship at the time. It obviously lacked in the camera department and other Bs features they had but built quality and UI speed was amazing especially taking into consideration that I payed 150 euros for it while the Samsung flagship cost was around 600. The phone has good amount of ram for it's era (3gb version) and amazing battery life (especially vs my previous phone galaxy S4). The only real issue was the lack of software updates from Xiaomi. However, I installed a custom cyanogemod from xda developers and the phone was awesome and had features that no other stock phone had for years.
Overall an amazing phone for it's money and era.

Anonymous, 21 Jul 2020Is it possible to change the Simcard slot with the redmi no... moreI got the same bad surprise when I found out that the redmi note 3 has only 2 sim slot after I bought it. Good battery life but worst phone I ever owned. No expansion slot, but at least, the otg worked.
Early Android tablets were much more better to use, and they came for the most part with a full size usb and micro usb

It is the worst phone of all time Performance is poor. Camera is poor. Lots of heating issue. Wifi sensor does not work. Fingerprint sensor does not work. It stopped working after 2 months. Not at all recommended.

Been using this phone since 15/2/2016 changed the battery once on 2019 no other major issues till today. Today on 6/2/2021 my phone suddenly wont switch on and wont charge. Bought new battery but when i connect the battery to its connector, some part at the circuit board got very very hot although i didnt connect charging cable. Could it be short circuit somewhere? Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 has served me well for this 5 years. Really wish i could fix it.

The internals of the mtk version is different from the snapdragon version and you need a different motherboard that has the snapdragon soc and display assembly to use the snapdragon board

Is it possible to change the Simcard slot with the redmi note 3 pro, the one with an SD card slot... coz the MediaTek version only has slot 2 sim cards

I use this phone from 1.1.2016. It has sometimes problem with rom but I fix it. I replace one times battery and now battery work pretty well. I consider about taking redmi note 5

RIP Redmi Note 3 (MIUI 7 - MIUI 10.2). It will receive stable MIUI 10.2 next year January as the last one. For developer version, it is the upcoming MIUI 10 dev 8.11.22 as the LAST one.

For next year, I suggest you guys go and use custom ROM / stick with stable ROM if you still hold dear to it. OR it's just time to upgrade to Redmi Note 5 at least, but that comes with Anti-Rollback Protection being enforced. Another way is if you don't mind the NOTCH, get Redmi Note 6. Another option is to get 2nd hand Redmi Note 4 but that is also going the way of the dodo as possibly MIUI 11.x will be the last one.
So going by Xiaomi's software upgrade logic as of now, all Xiaomi smartphones and tablets as of current will only get 4 major MIUI updates which is down from the previous 5 major MIUI updates last year.
IMHO, now it's just another PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE for you to upgrade to a newer device every 3 years which costs more than what you have. Although I applaud Xiaomi for giving long MIUI software support for it's devices, I am guessing Google (ever since Treble) is FORCING smartphone OEMs like Xiaomi to only have 3 year software support, in line with Google's update policy.

I am using this device and it has a very good screen resolution with a good battery life. Mediatek powered device with a good RAM to handle your gaming needs. Would reccomend this to users

worst phone i had ever used...we are using 2 mob at home both are redmi note 3 and it just had been 1 yr m using and both my mobiles are not getting charge. i gave it to mi service center and they r saying there is some prob. in the mother board and to fix it they are demanding 5000. wtf both mob of the same brand and model having same prob at the same time..

great design and good features too!! it has a 5.5 inch screen along with a 13 MP camera. Powered by Mediatek MT6795 Helio X10 chipset and 3GB RAM, it has a great battery life!!
