Bought it 2 days ago.
First day: Slightly older MIUI6 with boatware.
No lags at all. Gaming pretty good. No heavy games.
Temperature average 29-32.
Camera & video is very good.
2nd day: Latest MIUI6 with no bloatware.
Temperature when used will increase 40c.
Ridiculous lag starts at 36c. Launcher, camera, everything will starts to lag.
Put aside and cool it down, works normally again.
But gaming still bad compared to older MIUI.
6/10 overall.

According to what you mentioned easier get heat up usually this often is the main cause of battery spoil easily. Did you start to notice this happening to Redmi 4G?
