Will rooting my phone remove my operating system, as someone told me that Roooting removes the is and you have to install it. Let me know snout of as I have overheating issue

I purchased Note 4 G thru Flip Cart on 22nd Jan 2015.
I am quite satisfied with its overall performance.
I face a little problem, Can any one suggest solution:
I use flip cover with transparent view of the screen, the problem is, I have to open the flip cover to know the caller, Generally, you need not to open the flip to know the caller. I hope some setting is need to be done.

hello guys & all the people who involved in its production.
i"m using since of about half of month & believe me guys this phone was awesome including looking & camera of high quality zoom & in terms of its battery which is too good.
people who complained about its camera doesn't makes any sense..

Download CAMU or Lenovo Super Camera to replace the default one. You will be surprised.

On the fifth day the glass display shattered.
Flipkart washed its hands off saying it has to be repaired at service center and to be paid.The glass display is very thin and the entire phone is so light and weak, anything can break and no warranties.
A cell breaks on fifth day!
Such flimsy phone.Waste of money and loss of face!
Do not buy it.
