Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro gets Android Oreo with MIUI 9.5 starting on June 29
If you own a Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro in India, the wait for the update to Android Oreo is almost over. The Chinese company has announced on Twitter that the over-the-air rollout is going to commence on June 29 - this Friday.
You will receive an update to MIUI 9.5, which is based on Android Oreo. Thus, the Redmi Note 5 Pro will finally get a newer base than the Android 7.1.2 Nougat it's been stuck with until now.
Mi Fans! You asked for it and we're getting it for you.— MIUI India (@MIUI_India) June 25, 2018
Redmi Note 5 Pro users will start getting the update to Android O-based MIUI 9.5 in phases, starting Friday, 29th June!
If you are not part of 1st phase, don't worry! You will get it sometime soon 🙂 pic.twitter.com/V7KIz99Irj
For those who are notoriously impatient, it's important to stress that the update will be going out in phases. So if you aren't part of the first phase, don't worry, be patient. It's going to arrive "sometime soon" anyway.
The exact build of the global ROM coming your way is 220.127.116.11.OEIMIFA. The update was in beta for a long time, some bugs were encountered and subsequently squished, and now it's ready to be called Stable.
Whr is my update ???
