If you can't stop listening music for 40 minutes to charge your phone than you're an addict. And charging and using your phone simultaneously is a big NO (and everybody in the world who knows battery technology will say the same).
                        - sd card
If someone stores years of data on the phone, that's the opposite of smart. Backup your data, one of the major rule of IT. If someone steals your phone (or you lose it), your sd card won't save you and your loss will be the double amount.

I just made a post defending essential features - SD card support, 3.5 mm headphone jack, removable battery and explaining why they are important to me and to many, but completely forgot about the FM radio.

Thank you very much for reminding me and the other readers. I absolutely agree with you.
Even though the companies seem to compete, they definitely work together. Just look at the phones manufactured in the last 5 years - it's nearly impossible to distinguish between different brands.
My phone from which I write the post in manufactured in 2021 and bought in 2022.
The only reason it grabbed my attention are all the featurures I mentioned earlier - 3.5 mm headphone jack, SD card slot support and FM radio, my only complain is non-removable battery, but considering other models didn't have even those features and my last phone (which still works, but slower), is manufactured in 2016 and bought 2017, I felt kind of pushed/forced to go for my current device, due to lack of choices.

Anonymous, 20 Apr 2024Bro chill phone companies are just making phones with snapd... more''why do people like you do not accept the fact that flagships phones are like this if it's hard for you then why won't you just make your own phone?''

That's seriously the dumbest answer I've seen in a while.
It's the sheep like you who comply and buy crap phones that empowers and enables companies to continue with their crappy manufacturing ideas.

He's right to complain and he's not wrong to not want to comply and obey these stupid companies's policies.
It's not just him, I and millions of users worldwide support him on this argument.

My current phone has 3.5 mm headphone jack and SD card support, the only thing I'd complain is non-removable battery.
Luckily, I'm within European Union and I hope the new law, which will force manufacturers to provide removable batteries will come to power, just like they forced iPhones to come with USB C cables.

It's the hypocrisy of companies, which can't include wall adapter, so people are forced to buy it separately if they don't have one, because companies 'care so much'' about nature, or not put headphone jack, so people are forced to buy their overpriced wireless headphones, but willingly manufacture millions of units EVERY YEAR, which causes much greater damage to the nature. Most of the companies also slow down performance of their devices after every upgrade, so consumers are forced to buy newer device.

Let me explain why it's important to have the features that millionss of people want and companies deliberately remove:

                              * Headphone jack - allows listening to music while charging and using expensive headphones such beats audio that support 3.5 mm headphone jack.
To answer further - yes, I could use wireless headphones, but I don't want to and it's my right to not want to.
Charging headphones or smart watches is extremely inconvenient, considering I could wear my headphones with 3.5 mm jack or my wrist watch, some models of which have 10 YEARS battery life.
                              So, talk about efficiency.

                              * SD card support - allows for transfering data quickly on multiple devices.
In a situation where a phone is broken, data is gone. It could be years of pictures and videos memories lost just like that.
However, if the broken device had its data stored on the SD card, the data will survive and can be used by putting the card in another device.

*Removable battery - devices like Samsung Galaxy S5 and Samsung Galaxy xCover series are a living proof that it's possible to manufacture device that has a high IP water resistance rating and removable battery.
                              Why is removable battery important?
Because it allow customers to change their own device's battery easily, anywhere and use multiple batteries when outside, such as hiking or at picnic.
It will also decrease the units thrown away in the rubbish after their battery life degraded and users simply buu new phones.

The attitude and hypocrisy of companies are very annoying,
but it's especially annoying when clueless people defend them and their policies, which are made to make them richer, not for care about consumers or nature.
However attacking other people for their own opinions and not complying like them is already on another level.

Just a reminder that we, the people can change the situation if we stand strong together.
Do you remember that 10 or so years ago flagship phones would get 1 or 2 major updates only,
midrange and low end phones likely 1 and mostly 0 updates (for those who care about updates)?
Nowadays it's a different story, because too many people complained, and companies offer 3 or 4 major updates for even their midrange devices.
At least if you comply, do not try to silence those, who speak out their mind.

                              Have a good day!

The only exceptions are the top tier $1000+ flagships and gaming phones that have vapor chambers, and even those start heating up during extensive gaming sessions once the thermal saturation capacity is reached within the vapor chamber.
