Xiaomi Watch 2 goes on sale in Europe for €200
The Xiaomi Watch 2 is official, though you wouldn’t know it by looking at Xiaomi’s website. But it is and it is already available for pre-order from Amazon in Germany and Italy.
Here are the links for Germany, where it is available in both Black and Silver. Note that the watch will actually be released on February 25 (Sunday), so you can expect it to arrive around March 1-4.
And here are the links for Italy. We only managed to find the Silver version, but the Black one should pop up in short order. Italy is getting it a day early with a release scheduled for February 24 (Saturday).
The Xiaomi Watch 2 should be available in other countries, but it is quite difficult to find – searching for it brings out a pile of Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro results. And why not get the Pro? We saw the Bluetooth version for €230 even under €220 in some places. Not having an LTE option is one of the main differences between the Watch 2 and Watch 2 Pro.
There are more, of course. The Pro is made out of stainless steel, this one has an aluminum body. And that’s about it. The Watch 2 has the same 1.43” 466 x 466px AMOLED display and same Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 chipset (running Wear OS). There’s a GPS receiver, heart rate and SpO2 monitoring and a 5 ATM water resistance rating.
It’s not just Amazon, Belgian store Selexion has the Xiaomi Watch 2 at €200 too (Amazon BE has the Pro at €220 for the Bluetooth model and €250 for the LTE one). This was one of the sites that jumped the gun and published their Watch 2 pages before the official announcement. Though given how messily Xiaomi handled this, it’s no surprise there was confusion.
Anyway, Xiaomi has bigger things going on today – stay tuned for the Xiaomi 14 Ultra announcement.
