Xiaomi-backed Huami Amazfit smartwatch is now official
Xiaomi once again paired with Huami for a new smart wearable and the result is Huami Amazfit Smartwatch. In case you need a refresh, Huami is a Xiaomi-backed company mostly in the way of financing.
The Amazfit Smartwatch has a circular 1.34" display with 300px diameter. It runs on a dual-core 1.2GHz processor with half a gig RAM, 4GB storage, and is powered by a 280mAh battery.
The Amazfit Smartwatch is very well connected supporting Bluetooth 4 LE, Wi-Fi, GPS, and AliPay (Alibaba mobile payments). It also features a heart-rate sensor for advanced fitness tracking.
Huami promises 35 hours of battery life with all functionality, including real-time GPS tracking enabled. Then, if you use the watch for not more than 1 hour per day as a fitness tracker, you can achieve 5 days of battery life. Finally, you can squeeze 11 days from the Amazfit Smartwatch by using it just as a pedometer.
The smartwatch is IP67 water- and dust-proof, features scratch-resistant ceramic bezels, and comes with a dual-color sport wristband. Being developed with Xiaomi's help means the Amazfit watch works with the latest Xiaomi MiFit app for Android and iOS.
The Amazfit Smartwatch costs CNY 799 or $120, and is going on sale in China tomorrow. You can get it from all popular online retailers.
