There has been a fix posted originally by ssbhatt and shared by many others about increasing the in call volume. Pasting it again:
STEPS TO IMPROVE AUDIO:
1. Enter Engineering Mode - Dial *#*#3646633#*#*
2. Go to Hardware Testing>Audio>Normal Mode.
3. Select "Sph" in type.
4. Select "level 6" in Level.
5. Enter 160 in value.
6. Press Set.
7. Restart the phone.
It will increase your volume when you put your volume to the highest level.
If you want to increase your volume in all level then choose "level 0" in level and enter 160 in value.
check if it works

I bought new xolo A500s from phone merchants on 12-8-2013. Its ringer is very poor. It is difficult to hear if phone is ringing in your hand. The next day on 13-8-2013 I asked phone merchants to replace the piece but they did not, giving the reason that there is no stock. Even today they have no stock of xolo A500s. My 7000/- Rs. are blocked and I am crying now. Very very worst sound out put. Please friends do not go for this mobile. This is my humble request to all.

Xolo sucks...
pls dont buy these phones....
bought one from ezone and it took 3 months to be reapired.
On the very first day it was hung..
Rubbish phoes XOLO..

i got the new phone of xolo a500s, the first phone i purchased was have defect in mic but now i found the camera is very poor as compare to my old one xolo a500s the new replaced phone camera is very noisy u will find noise in camera ( small small dots), i think the xolo made some phone camera very good and other phone camera bad, those who got the better camera there luck and those who got the noisy camera there bad luck just like me

hello guys I Purchased this phone yesterday from infibeam.com to gift ma wife.
Phone comes with Head phone,charger & cable,scratch Gaurd, one already protecting the screen.
lets review about this phone...
positives:
1. Display 8/10
2. games like temple rum 2 9/10
3. browsing 8/10
4. downloading 8/10
5. performance 8/10
6. touch sensitive 8/10
7. design awsome looks sleek and compact 9/10
8. camera front rear works good for wat we paid 7/10
9. Battery last for 8-9 hours in normal usage 7/10
Negatives:
1. camera flash like FIREFLY in villages useless
2. Night mode waste option.
3. battery last for 4 Hours in continue browsing & gaming
4. Built quality is poor while ringing whole phone vibrates without vibrator.
5. Front face plate of display is a cheap plastic material which sounds like a empty box if we tape little hard.
6. external Speaker is visible through grill.
I didnt check video playback i'll post it later
Overall this phone is not for boys,not suitable for rough handling.
Good looking smart phone for 7k with 1.2DC Processor,
GPU-Mali-400mp for gaming that i have in ma Samsung SII, 1.2GB ROM,512MB Ram(400mb),5MP camera Vga front for videocalling i use tango,light sensor,accelometer,FM.
My conclusion good for women.

Camera worst at night flash useless
Display good
Touch sensitive good

battery is very low only 6 hours continue use and only 4 hours browsing and it also take long time to charge and while charging the phone also heat

still not get the phone replacement the shop owner don't have the stock of xolo a500s and he also not giving me other phone by paying more. this is my second android phone and i found the major problem, the first phone was samsung but i lost the samsung in bus and now i purchased xolo and not satisfied with the support and the dealer of xolo products
