The World's most powerful Headache.
They give you 2 weeks to return the phone. Smart on their part, since most of us common users will need more than that time to figure out how we've been swindled off 25 K.
Heating issues- Yes. Very disturbing at times.
The handset failed to read SIM card. Had to change the SIM.
21 MP camera- a BIG joke. Maybe they forgot to put the decimal (.) between 2 and 1 there. Seriously, that's more like its quality.
Battery life- barely a day with average use.
Tele/ e-mail Customer services- damp squib. The customer service numbers are inaccessible most of the time (even "please check the number you have dialed"). As per their advice I reset the phone- you know how much time & date consuming it is to keep resetting at every whim of theirs.
The only hope to redeem all these harrowing things is to wait for Yutopia-2. Probably even that is a trap.
25 THOUSAND for an over-promised brick. The WORLD'S MOST POWERFUL HEADACHE.
One doesn't spend 25 K on a device and expect to have pathetic experience in less than a MONTH of use.
I'm planning to go to the service center. Either replace it or give refund.
If it doesn't work, gather a few suffers together (obviously, many are trapped) and even consider taking legal route. 25 K is a BIG amount to be swindled off for a mobile like this. YU has broken customer trust BIG time with this and deserve to pay for the indifferent attitude. What say ?

YU Yutopia is not just a budget phone but it is the best working device in the market with a wide range of specifications .It is the best spec device of 25000 with 4GB ram and 21MP back facing camera compared to high brand phones YU has put its maximum effort for making this phone a reality.

I am just a normal guy working in a Pharma sector. The point by point reply by seems to imply that you are a very learned guy in Mobile phones. If your Yutopia worked well, then I must congratulate you and wish you all the best. I hope you do not go through the same ordeal that I went through as an end user. My wife is facing loads of issues with her broke Yureka and the customer service guys at Yu. I wish I could have taken the videos and photos when I was facing problems with the Yutopia.

You have pointed out all the defects that I have also found and now I came to know that this brand has cheated us. Please write on the yu support forum so that your phone can get replaced. The wifi issue you are facing same I am facing it's quite annoying. I think you have got a defective piece just like me. Or its possible that manufacturer thought that our core customers won't use wifi so they put a low quality antenna.

Very exciting hardware, and was very excited to own a made in India phone, but am quite disappointed after using it for a little more than a month, tried to return it but am too late for it now, don't know what to do with this phone now???
Very bad battery life, but charges quickly, have to charge it twice a day with my usage.
Excellent screen display.
The worst and most glitchy touch screen experience you could have.
For no apparent reason you will suddenly find that the phone can not detect your SIM card.
Very decent camera.
Wifi connection is also a little glitchy, at times it's quite annoying.
I will not ever buy a yu phone again, before I had also decided to go for the yutopia 2 when it gets launched.
Am an Indian at heart, so I really want this company to do well, but have lost confidence now.
A suggestion if anyone important in the company is listening, announce a return policy like return in 1-2 months get back x% return in 3-4 months get y% back. It would show your commitment to your product and will scare people like me a lot lesser to ever again experiment with your brand.

Anonymous, 21 Feb 2016a request to people against yu .. plz try to avoid saying l... morei havent wrote any fake comment. there are lots of issue i faced in my yutopia. thats why i returned it. camera is not upto the mark. performance is not like sd810. shown some lags in 3-4 days. fingerprint scanner is pathetic. lots of bug in UI.
No update of cynogene 13 is currently available for Yutopia. so you are writing everything fake to support yutopia. please dont misguide others to waste their money. 25000INR is not small amount to waste on this shitty phone.

I had bought this phone with great hopes but the phone is having many issues. The phone does't supports camera2 api, finger print sensor is not good, some times phone doesn't recognises touches especially the on screen home touch buttons , unstable wifi , even when device is very close to router (1 to 2 feet) the wifi reception is very poor it loses the signal automatically and catches after sometime means it works intermittently. Sometimes it work fine for 15 to 20 minutes and loses signal after that but sometimes it is horribly unstable loses signal every now and then I checked it with other routers and other phone hotspots but it doesn't resolves. I have tried every possible way to resolve it like hard resetting the phone to using in safe mode etc. But the problem exists. One most important thing , the service is worst of a kind I have seen in the history of smartphone manufacturers till date no resolution, made many threads on yu forum called many times the customer care but no resolution till date.

1.The phone heats up even on standby. This phone is known for keeping SD 810 V1 under perfect control on temperature even on Hardest Performance. This has a special grease, 7/8 holes on top & bottom of phone for heat release
2.The Saturn Ring came out on Day 2-3 with glue still wet! THIS IS THE BIGGEST lie! ANY glue (Epoxy, FeviBond, FeviStick,FeviQuik) sticks is any condition and gets dry within 1 Hour and your glue is wet after about 1 Week of Manufacture!(Phones are manufactured over 1 week vefore delivery and also Yutopia is made much more before it's deliveries because it has registration to buy)
3.The phone has not hung in my experience, any review or anything. And you say that the phone hung and didn't get normal EVEN on restart! WAH! It is IMPOSSIBLE and IMPRACTICAL! With a restart ANY phone gets normal, if it doesn't, they you've installed some Malware or Affecting software
4.Fast charging isn't great? Remember this is Fast Charge 2.0 Only, not 3.0 and this phone doesn't have USB-C. but still, 30 Mins for 60% is great
5.Battery is great? That's the only problem I had with this phone! It runs only 1 Day with moderate usage
Premium looks and House of Marley headphones are great and F-Print Sensor is smooth, these are only the true things, maybe lag is also true, but it doesn't reach upto THAT mark which you said. And also as I always say, the camera, F-Print and few performance enhancements will be made after the update.

1. It's OWN OS which stops upto 95% to enhance performance in app. The Home Screen
2. No Jailbreaking or Rooting process can help you uninstall or install iOS from/ in a device, which means iOS runs ONLY on Verified Devices and can't go off Verified Devices
3. Apple rechecks and customizes ALL apps to the level of it's phone's abilities etc before letting it into the App Store
4.Everyone agrees that iOS is not a complete OS. So, one more reason, incomplete OS
Android can't manage so well because it can run practically on ANY device! Android apps are checked for Viruses and are not customised to EVERY part for some specific phone, not even for their OWN Nexus Series

The phone is just good on papers. Take everything best and put it all together, doesnt make the phone good. I used it for 5 days and returned back due to defective piece. Reason: The phone heats up, even when on standby (company gives a plastic case in the box, which surely shams the heat.) The Saturn ring of the camera came out within a couple of days, with the glue still wet. Pathetic. The flash cover was on the floor then. luckily I could find it. On day 3 of usage, the phone hung and was not normal even after 15 - 20 restarts. I had to factory reset the phone. The fast charging isnt that great. It takes more than 30 mins for those 60% charge. Battery, premium looks and Headphones from House of Marley are the best. Luckily I didnt have issues with the fingerprint sensor and it worked like a butter for me. The biggest let down was the camera. 21mp is a joke. Even my Nokia N8 takes better pictures even now. Low light images are highly pixelated. And if you zoom in, the pics are very unclear. You dont expect that from a 21 mp camera. What helped me make up my mind to end my association with Yu, was the pathetic after sales service. The company claims for 15 working days replacement warranty. My wife's phone (Yu Yureka) is dead since 2 months now. Even after following up with Yu for the replacements, they just give you dates that you have to wait for. They have some technical issue that doesnt seem to resolve for ages.

i like yu yuotopia i am not yet buy this but i like spec and especially it made by indian company of yu and micromax that's great even one small company ready to compete with some mnc especially china makes its great Mr pal you told updates when it begins let tel i want to buy it

It is rumored itself with a lower front Camera Resolution, Worse battery (It is a Li-Po and Yutopia has a High-Density Li-po which is 10% better), lesser resolution screen, Same memory and RAM. Now a phone will get lesser than expected (in many cases). If you say getting an older SoC is useless with a newer SoC in view, then WHY the HECK do people buy SD 801 of Mi 4? SD 806 of LG? Old Chipsets of MediaTek etc? Is it that only Yutopia is NOT to be opted for having older (Just 1 Year, and also the most powerful at this moment) chipset? Man don't be SO impractical and judgmental! People buy the old SD 410 of Moto G 3rd Gen at about 15,000 whereas we have newer SD 615's at 10,000 and other SD 410's at 5,000. The same applies here. Both Mi 5 and Yutopia are competing phones but both are equally good (and Yutopia is good EVEN with the rumors) and both can be bought ( Yutopia will soon get better)

And al... moremi4 was also high end phone from xiomi. mi5 is coming with snapdragon820 which will be better than this 810. if you said wait for update and then buy, it doesnt make sense in buying such old soc if new one is available in nearly same price. so yutopia is neither a good option to buy now nor in future after updates as you said. and yes mi5 could also have some issues but it is not much mentionable if you are comparing it with yutopia since it also had lots of issues. but specwise mi5 will any day be better than yutopia.

And also, I am not telling people to 'HOPE' for the Update to solve the problems, I am ASSURING the solution to them with the update. I just suggested to buy after it's update. And also, this is also Budget-Friendly, isn't it. Also, Mi5 is also the first Mi Phone to handle SUCH a High-Power CPU and specs, so WHAT ASSURANCE are YOU giving of Mi5's being 'THE PERFECT' budget phone! If you will try showing Xiaomi's history of good phones, even Yu has a history of BEST phones

pathetic brand and service. i am chasing to get my phone replaced for more than a month with out much luck. I recommend not to buy phones from YU or Micromax.
