ZTE launches its Nubia brand in India on May 19

15 May, 2015

Last week we found out about ZTE's intentions of taking its Nubia brand to India. At that point some leaked information claimed the Z9 Mini would be the first Nubia smartphone to be released in the subcontinent.

Today ZTE has started sending invites for the Nubia launch event to Indian media outlets. The big unveil is scheduled for May 19, so next Tuesday.

The Chinese company hasn't hinted at which device or devices will be revealed on that occasion. That said, even if it's not going to be the Z9 Mini as previously rumored, it stands to reason that ZTE will focus on the Z9 line, which also comprises the Z9 and the Z9 Max. This makes sense because these three handsets are the latest to come out of the Nubia sub-brand.

ZTE has partnered exclusively with Amazon India for releases in the subcontinent, though for now it's unclear if it will employ the flash sale model pioneered by Xiaomi or not. The full details should become available next week, of course.
