Just received an update to Android 15 (released in September 2024) on my 9 Pro (released November 2023), so they do perform major updates of Android, it is just going to probably be 1 and done, but at least there is some update a year+ after release, which people were saying that it wouldn't happen.
I would say that, if they bump up the price but provide 2 or more major Android releases, that would be fine as well.

I am having connection stability issues with this phone, especially when gaming on the go. Anyone knows a fix to this? I also have my older Black Shark 5 Pro as a secondary and it doesn’t encounter the same issue.

I got the phone few days ago and I'm already disappointed. In the page it said it had full compatibility with my carrier. The carrier sent me a text as soon as I put the SIM in saying I didn't and I'd have limited access and possibly slow network.
Moreover, I have the same lag and network issues over WiFi.
So I have a gaming phone I can't use to play.
It also won't detect any of my Bluetooth headsets.
And the selfie camera "enhances" all your photos when saving so you get ugly ultra edited pics.
When the network works it's a great phone but it has way too many issues.

Design appreciation is subjective.
If apple goes for the same, then you'll see people singing praises for the same.
What matters is what it offers for what has been promised.
It offers way more than what it costs.

It's crazy to see people buy this phone and get disappointed with the camera cuz this is literally a gaming phone. Ofc the camera would only be average. It's better to buy S24 Ultra if you want an all-rounder phone and you don't have a budget to have two phones separately for gaming and daily drivers.

2. Latest security update is August 2024
3. The noise is the active fan. It turns on automatically to keep the battery cool as it fast-charges. With the Redmagic charger it can go from 10% to 100% in around 20 minutes

Hi, I have the ORECMAGIC 9 PRO
And I wanted to ask
1. Is the need for the front camera (selfie) relatively bad?
2. The device has the latest update from April 2024 and did it receive an update after April?
3. When charging the device, there is a weak noise from the device (not from the charger), if I'm not mistaken, it's coming from the phone's speakers, should it be like that?

I was looking at top 10 Mobiles with highest Antutu scores for July 2024. It was 2nd in the list. But what really struck me was it's design. To me it seemed to be the best of all ten in terms of looks.
