ZTE Star 2 makes the rounds at TENAA
Today the Chinese certification agency posted details on the upcoming flagship form ZTE. The ZTE Star 2 appeared in all its glory with photo from almost any angle. It appears that the manufacturer is still aiming for premium markets.
The specs page confirms that the Star 2 will indeed be powered by a Snapdragon 801 SoC, clocked at 2.5 GHz. Onboard there are also 3GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM, although no information is available about an SD card slot. The display on the ZTE is 5.5" with Full HD resolution. This is all housed in 154 x 77 x 9.8 mm body, that appears to be made of aluminum and runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat with a ZTE skinned launcher.
The handset has two cameras - an 8MP front shooter and a 13MP main camera, which will most likely feature a Sony Sensor and what looks two be a dual-tone LED. Interestingly enough the pictures show another module right beside the camera. It is not exactly clear what it is, but one guess would be that it is used for some kind of active focusing, similar the LG G3's laser focus technology.
Availability for the device is still unannounced, but the price tag is expected to be around CNY1,999 ($320), which sounds like a great deal for a flagship smartphone with 4G connectivity.
