ZUK Z2 goes through TENAA ahead of its May 31 unveiling, images and specs outed

Vlad, 25 May, 2016

Lenovo subsidiary ZUK unveiled the Z2 Pro last month, and the official announcement of the non-Pro Z2 is scheduled for May 31. ZUK has been outing a teaser here and there for the past few days, trying to build hype for the device.

And now the ZUK Z2 has been certified for sale in China by TENAA, the country's FCC equivalent. As usual, this means we get to see what the phone looks like, but also the exact hardware it's packing.

The Z2 will come with a 5-inch 1080p touchscreen with 2.5D curved glass on top, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 chipset, 3 or 4GB of RAM, 32 or 64GB of non-expandable internal storage, a 13 MP rear camera, an 8 MP front snapper, dual-SIM functionality, and a 3,500 mAh battery. It runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Its dimensions are 140.5 x 69 x 7.9 mm, and it weighs 150g.

It will be offered in black or white, starting at CNY 1,799 ($274 or €246). As you can see, the Z2 has a fingerprint scanner on the front, underneath the screen. At the moment it's unclear where it will be sold aside from China.

There's no point in getting the Z2 Pro unless you vouch for the 128GB/6GB model, otherwise the 3500 mAh Zuk Z2 is a far better choice.

justifying a cellphone with its selling price only is a foolish. you never know how struggle it would be in selling a Android cell in China. however, watch out the 4G Brand it uses. it might not be compatible with that in your country.

@$274 I'd rather spend $50 more and get a more known brand the HTC one a9. Either way, still good news for us who don't want to move past 5". Hope more this size come out.
