This phone is fantastic for programming via the MediaStore and MediaPlayer APIs. As far as I can tell, only it, besides the ZTE I had, actually implemented the Android standards and more. I have had more powerful Samsung and Motorola phones that can not play as high quality videos, and could not even bother to put a wav file codec on their devices (as required by the Android standards!) forcing me to convert all my files to mp3. I can only hope their future phones can keep up.
The battery on this phone sucks, so you won't be able to use it like a normal day to day phone without lots of charging throughout the day (This was a problem both times I had this phone). Also, the screen went black a year after I bought it a second time. No vibrations, power buttons did nothing, unplugging battery did nothing, and letting the battery drain did nothing. It is worth noting the phone was 9 years old at this point.

J, 15 Sep 2018thanks to this phone, i used it for almost 3years heheI use this as the customer and food service phone in my bar because I'm too damn cheap for a landline and I don't want people calling me at 3 AM wanting curly fries and french bread pizza on my Samsung Galaxy S Advance! At 3 AM, the only thing I want to hear is NPR on my AM FM clock radio!

The day I walked out if the store, I had issues with my Alcatel Fierce. Made my 1st phone call and the speaker buzzed like a mad bee. Also the volume at it's highest setting is still too low. Couple days later I attempted to return the phone to MetroPCS where I purchased it and there was a minute scratch on it so they would not take it back.
I've had the phone for 2 months and the performance is spiraling downward. The apps constantly randomly stop. Repeated dropped calls, messages not received calls not received!! Uggh. I would NOT recommend this phone to anyone even it we're free!!!

The Alcatel Fierce phone has a volume problem, pretending it doesn't is asinine, fix your firmware.

This phone sucks. It keeps dropping the wifi and has a dread shot in the screen near the top. I will never buy it again

I've had this phone for about 5 months. At first, I liked how big the screen is (It's a 5.5"), but that's all I like about it. It randomly dials numbers at times without me even touching it, and that can be embarrassing if you don't know someone's listening to you on the phone! It does drop calls ALOT. I could even deal with those things until lately when it stopped charging. Bought several new chargers, somedays it will charge, most days it won't. I can put it on charge all night long, and it'll say 9%. To me, a phone this nice and this expensive should not be having these problems. I'm going back to Straight Talk and trading this phone for a Samsung Galaxy. I'm disappointed with Alcatel Fierce 2XL.

Sounds like grounds for a RECALL ... My port is loose and charges , when it wants to LOL. it dies often. Had to joggle .. pushing POWER, VOL ^ and VOL √ simutaniously in different order to get phone to turn back on. Did this for two or more days . Finally on . Good luck... Hopes this wks 4 U folks.

Well my biggest problem with this phone is that it wont download pictures, send email right away (2 or 3 days later), if I'm lucky. And the sound recorder just starts recording on its own. I've taken the phone back to the store 3 or 4 times with no success.

My Acatel One Touch Fierce started the microsoft windows 10 Mobile update last Friday around 5pm. It then shut down my phone, and the phone never came back on. I went to T-Mobil and they couldn't help. The processed a warranty exchange request, and on Saturday Morning T-Mobil sent a text message saying the phone is back ordered. I had an old first generation Nokia Windows phone, and at least I can make calls. Did this happen to anyone else?

phone was good while you do something with it, and for this there are several reasons here are just a few for example; if you fell and crushed glass, if it fell into the water, or you sat on it and you have damaged violated, they are mechanical damage that may be invisible because they are broken internal parts. but there are also and software problems if you do ROOT the phone then you open the door to viruses that have infected phone and virus takes control of the phone and doing things by itself, but it can happen if you install APK pirated software to the games which carry the virus. Despite all this warming of the phone can be made of the old or worn batteries so its replacement can solve this problem

I have had an Alcatel Fierce for almost 1 year now the problems, it drops calls, makes calls, puts calls on hold flips all the place and so many other problems now it gets so hot I am afraid it will start a fire. But to top it all off it turned off and now it won't turn on. Well back to Samsung I never should have left.
