Android 5.1 update for the Nvidia Tegra Note 7 is now out

Vlad, 25 July, 2015

You'll be forgiven if you don't remember the Nvidia Tegra Note 7, but before the chip maker launched the Shield tablet, it revealed the Tegra Note initiative. The first and only member in that range was the Tegra Note 7, a tablet developed by Nvidia but sold by different partners under different brands.

So the EVGA Tegra Note 7 or the XOLO Play Tegra Note are basically the same thing. The nice part about that is that Nvidia is handling software upgrades for the Tegra Note 7, and recently the company has been pretty quick to adopt new Android versions.

The same is happening now. Nvidia has started rolling out the update to Android 5.1 Lollipop for the Tegra Note 7. You should be getting this within the next few days or weeks regardless of which Tegra Note 7 you bought.

The 446MB update also comes with some app compatibility fixes, updates to some Lasso and DirectStylus features, and many more optimizations and improvements. That said, you shouldn't expect any new features, as even Google's Android 5.1 release is mainly meant to address certain issues introduced by 5.0.
