B&O announces its 3rd gen Beoplay E8 TWS with improved battery life, Type-C charging and Bluetooth 5.1

Bang&Olufsen updated its Beoplay E8 truly wireless (TWS) earbuds which now come with improved battery life, Bluetooth 5.1 and a USB-C charging case. The earbuds have also been slimmed down in size compared to their predecessors and now weigh in at 5.8 grams each. Another improvement comes in the microphone department where each earbud now houses two mics for improved voice pickup and better in-call noise cancellation.

The actual drivers inside the buds are 5. mm and you can customize your listening profiles through the B&O app. There’s also support for SBC, AAC and Aptx codecs for optimal sound clarity and an IP54 rating for dust and splash/sweat resistance.

In terms of design, the new Beoplay E8 offer a more rounded shape while the charging case retains the premium leather build just like its predecessors. Battery life is rated at 7 hours of continuous playback at moderate volume levels while the case can extend that to 35 hours.

The new B&O Beoplay E8 go for $350/€350 and are already available in China while international sales are expected to start on February 14. In addition, B&O is also offering a separate Qi-certified wireless charging pad for $125/€125.

Difference between them and Apple is that these actually stand a chance to sound good.

Especially if you're commuting. Unless you have crazy good noise cancellation, you're still going to have traffic noises mixed up with your music. I just use a cheap pair of IEMs for commuting to work. Still sounds better than a pair of airpods.
