BlackBerry DTEK60 leaks again

Victor, 27 September 2016

Despite all the initial pessimism, BlackBerry's first dive into the Android realm with the Priv actually turned out to be a solid effort. You can read our full review of the flagship in case you are interested in the details. The DTEK50 that followed, however, didn't enjoy quite as positive a reception.

However, that hasn't really discouraged BlackBerry from working on the new DTEK line. Rumors are piling up quick, the latest courtesy of Evan Blass on Twitter and by all accounts the new DTEK60 will be unveiled shortly. A few days ago BlackBerry actually posted a full specs page for the device by mistake.

The DTEK60 will come with a 5.5-inch QHD display and just like its predecessor, no physical keyboard. Underneath the hood there is a Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The camera setup consists of a 21MP main snapper and an 8MP selfie one. Of course, the device will boot Android, complete with BlackBerry's own set of security features and apps and will draw power from a 3000 mAh, Quick Charge 3.0 compatible battery. There is also a USB Type-C port.

Now the Z10 was a serious looker, the opposite of the DTEK sub-brand.

Don't forget the very average 3000 mAh battery.
