Used it since 2016 battery finally failing in 2024 - great phone never gave me a problem in 8 years.

    Terrible phone. Never worked right from the start. No volume, almost impossible to hear. BLU could not fix, did nothing. Never fixed after 3 attempts. I' was stuck with it.

        Best phone I ever had, love the fingerprint lock, speed, storage, camera, battery! - clarity of calls is an issue but I use a blue tooth and I am good.

          Vivo 5 was fabulous. LOVED that phone. Had to replace it with the vivo 5r after my phone had a serious unfortunate accident and it's just pure junk. I've even had blu (after several arguments) send a new one thinking it was just a bad egg. Second one is just as bad if not worse. Connection is horrid, signal strength laughable, doesn't keep my settings. SD card can't be used as anything more than portable storage. Customer service is weak at best. The quality between the 5 and 5r is miles apart. After this, will never ever touch a blu again. I'm so done.

                bought this phone about a year ago and first had problem with battery and issue with it while using the phone few hours a day battery goes dead and since I was travelling out of the country with no access to tech support and factory rep to solve issue, another showed up when I was using and saving important data and document on the phone ,then realized that I can not retrieve any data or photo and file by connecting the phone the to a PC which mean any lap top or computer would not open or access my file and wasted and spent a lots of agony time to find a solution on line and through local mobile repair store overseas and came back to US and went to the best store where I bought the phone and realized then that BLU vivo 5r has built in battery and they did confirmed my phone issue USB port to connect to computer and factory refuse to cover the warranty since I just dropped the phone few days ago from my desk and screen took a small crack and they were not willing to help me with issues except to do a hard reset that would erase all my data and after all with my experience I suggest never buy a BLU phone specially with newer built in battery model since you would have to replace the phone to get new the battery and that is a total manufacturer rip off and flaws for a cheaper price phone and low quality tech support and many other flaws with this VIVO.5R

                  I am a user of the BLU Vivo 5R model. I have a problem with my mobile I can not see my photos in the gallery because I activated without realizing the guest mode which gives me limited access to my mobile I would like to know how to solve this problem . (The disabled if possible)

                    Good phone, up until the charging port wears out prematurely. I've had it about a year and it stopped charging entirely. Difficult enough to open the phone and solder on a new charging board/port. Good enough for short-term ownership.

                        I loved this phone. I bragged about this phone.It WAS a great phone.

                        Then Wireless Update was kind enough to Kill it. Update installs and nobody can hear you. My wife has the same phone. Her wireless update installed 3 days later. Now nobody can hear her.

                        The irony of Blu support telling people they have not "HEARD" of this problem kills me.

I am going to try to reset the phone to see if it will resolve my problems, but I really hated to have to do this and take a chance of losing any of my pictures of other info. The phone should work without having to do this reset crap! I have trouble with notifications not showing! When i get a text it shows for a few seconds then disappears, if I am not looking at phone when it comes in I don't know that I've gotten a text! It also doesn't show them from other apps, that i need to see them on. The power button is in a bad place, right where you hold the phone, I don't know how many times I've turned it off without meaning to! The speaker volume isn't very loud. The screen is toi touchy, I can't even listen to music or video without it being switched most of the time, because I can't shut the screen off when i start a video, if I do the video stops, so i have to carry it going it doesn't get switched to something else. The keyboard is also too touchy, it makes many errors! It does have some nice features, but they don't make up for it's flaws. Tell you what, you can buy mine if you want one! 😁

                                AnonD-681489, 02 Jul 2017Wireless Update Jun 2017: It has been a little over 3 mont... moreI am also affected by this last update. Outgoing call quality of my Vivo 5r became unusable after installing it. I may have found a workaround /solution that works.
                                This seems to have worked for me but PLEASE use this information at your own risk. Fiddling around in your phones engineering settings mode can be a recipe for disaster and can break your phone permanently! So, if you're not sure what you're doing by following these instructions, your best bet is to contact Blu for warranty service and have them resolve the issue for you. In any case, if you're feeling lucky and want to give it a shot, here's what I did:
                                1) Go to the Setting -> Cellular network setting and disable "Enhanced 4G LTE Mode"
                                2) Go to the Google Play Store and download the "MTK Engineering Mode" app. (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.themonsterit.EngineerStarter). This app lets you tweak certain hardware level settings on your device, including the microphone sensitivity settings that were broken by the wireless update that Blu pushed out.
                                3) Launch the MTK Engineering Mode app and follow these instructions: Steps:
                                A. Select "MTK Settings"
                                B. Swipe left to get to the "Hardware Testing" tab
                                C. Select "Audio"
                                D. Select "Normal Mode"
                                E. Under the pull down menu for "Type" select "Mic"
                                F. For "Level 0" set the "Value" field to "255", which is the maximum
                                G. Press the "Set" button. You'll get a confirmation that the setting has been changed. Just dismiss it by pressing "OK".

No one can hear me not to mention the bluetooth is awful. Blu says the same thing to me, haven't heard of this problem. I'm sending the phone back. I was wondering if updating it to Nougat would fix it. I wonder what other blu phones have this problem. --Very disappointed. Loved this phone.

Thought it was from dropping it too many times. Got a new one. Talked to several people on the new phone and they could hear me! Did the update, no one can hear me again. Have called Blu multiple times and they say they have not heard this was a problem?! If you have the blu vivo 5r refresh and did the wireless update and hard reset and still no one can hear you, PLEASE call them and make sure they document it.
