Chromecast sales cross 30 million mark

Himanshu, 29 July, 2016

Google has revealed that the total sales of its Chromecast dongle has crossed the 30 million milestone. The revelation was made by none other than the search giant's CEO Sundar Pichai during the company's Q2 earnings call.

That number stood at 25 million a couple of months back, meaning Google sold 5 million Chromecasts in just two months. It's worth mentioning that the company managed to sell a total of 17 million units till May 2015.

The 30 million milestone comes around three years after the device was launched.
