Fossil Q Venture and Q Explorist run Android Wear 2.0 on a $255 budget

Peter, 08 August 2017

Earlier than promised, Fossil unveiled the third generation of its Q Venture and Q Explorist smartwatches. Both run Android Wear 2.0, of course, and are based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 2100 chipset.

Both watches come in a choice of metallic and gold color hues with a metal or leather band (exchangeable). The Q Venture has a 42mm case, the Q Explorist is 44mm in diameter; both watches measure 12mm thick. The two models are easy to tell apart – the Explorist is slightly larger and it has two buttons in addition to the crown.

The Q watches have an estimated all-day battery life and offer activity tracking: steps, distance and calorie tracking. The watches are IP67 waterproof, but that’s not enough for swimming.

The Q Venture and Q Explorist are available on Fossil’s website for pre-order at a price of $255 to $275, depending on the strap (metal is $20 extra). The watches will start shipping on September 24.
