Hi i just bought a second-hand gionee w909, does anyone know hoe to turn it on properly? i luckily turn it on by rebooting it but had to turn it off to insert sim card then that trick don't work again.
Additionally, how do you download apps in this phone?

Yes. this can be set to auto accept on Flip open. it can also be set not too. Closing the flip although disconnects the call for sure.
2. Related to 1, when you close it, does it end the call?
Closing the flip although disconnects the call for sure. no option to change that.
3. Does the outer display unlock like most Android and iPhones, with a swipe up? (Our mum won't use fingerprint login, too fiddly.)
yes like any other android. Swipe up. Fingerprint unlock. or nothing at all. just turn the phone on by the side button and ur on desktop.
4. Does it have wireless charging OR any form of charging dock? (Like a Doro flip phone.)
No wireless charging or charging dock. plain USB C Charger
5. Will it work in the UK? (I have seen it on eBay.)
yes it will. it should. check yourself for more.
6. We need an Android flip phone for the GPS so we can track our mum using opt in tracking apps in case she gets lost.
Yes this can be done. dont buy any GIONEE W909.. make sure GOOGLE APPS are installed on it. i am selling mine though with box and all accessories

when u open it can accept the call.. or not accept the call.. this can be set as an option.
when u close the flip.. the call disconnects.. no other option.

Shame on manufacturers i cannot find a dual sim phone with 4.5 inch screen and 3 gb ram even though i am ready to pay a premium i am stuck with s4 mini and i am waiting from F**ing 2 years to buy a decent phone. if iPhone makes a dual sim will switch to iOS i am fed up with andriod quality and manufacturers. Google will introduce some bug or remove a good feature in every new Android version to re-introduce in the next iteration to bring down user experience down so that they will upgrade when new version comes. Cheap tricks from google. Android manufacturers are flooding the phone market with big screen phones now so that they can introduce bendable phone from 2018 which could be extended to double the screen size when opened like a book. eg : Samsung GalaxyX therefore everyone has to upgrade again coz of the new Fad.That's how these manufacturers are/can sustain revenue growth. Truth is manufacturers cannot push for Hardware performance more than what it is now people are not expecting to watch 3d movies on mobile we can already see limitation on primary camera currently.

Please make a dual sim flip phone like this one with sd 835 or a more powerful processor with nfc and an ir blaster. Will definitely buy one.
