Google parent company Alphabet posts Q4 and fiscal year results for 2021

Enrique, 02 February 2022

Google’s parent company Alphabet has just posted its Q4 2021 results, which include the results for the overall fiscal year 2021 as well. During its latest fiscal quarter Alphabet brought in $75.3 billion, a 32% increase compared to the same quarter in 2020.

For the fiscal year 2021, Alphabet earned $257.6 billion, up 41% YoY compared to the $182.5 billion earned in 2020.

“Our deep investment in AI technologies continues to drive extraordinary and helpful experiences for people and businesses, across our most important products. Q4 saw ongoing strong growth in our advertising business, which helped millions of businesses thrive and find new customers, a quarterly sales record for our Pixel phones despite supply constraints, and our Cloud business continuing to grow strongly.” -Sundar Pichai – CEO of Alphabet and Google

Google attributed its increase in revenue for fiscal Q4 to “broad-based strength in advertiser spending and strong consumer online activity, as well as substantial ongoing revenue growth from Google Cloud.”

Sundar’s quote from the released report mentioned Google reached a quarterly sales record for Pixel phones despite supply chain constraints. Google doesn’t offer more information than this and Pixel revenue falls under a broader revenue category so it’s difficult to find in the results.
