HP and Google discussed making an enterprise Nexus device

13 August, 2014

According to report in The Information, HP and Google discussed making an enterprise-centric Nexus device. The two tech giants also talked over the past year about utilizing Google Now as a corporate tool.

Google and HP primarily discussed potentially making Google Now useful in a corporate environment. The search giant's creation would allow employees to easily lookup and access company information such as financial or inventory data.

Regarding the enterprise-centric Nexus device, HP envisioned a product with high-end hardware encryption. Google however, was allegedly not as enthusiastic as the hardware company on the subject.

A potential collaboration between the two companies would rival the recently announced strategic partnership between Apple and IBM. Talks between HP and Google however, have reportedly fallen through.
