HSBC and First Direct hop on the Apple Pay bandwagon in UK

Himanshu, 29 July, 2015

The Apple Pay mobile payments service, which arrived in the UK a couple of weeks ago, now also supports HSBC and First Direct cards in the country.

Both HSBC and First Direct were supposed to be among the launch partners for the service in the country, but were missing from the initial list.

Other banks and credit card providers in the UK that are already on-board with the service include Santander, Natwest, Nationwide, RBS, Ulster Bank, MBNA, and American Express. The list is expected to grow in the future as Bank of Scotland, Halifax, Lloyds Bank, M&S Bank, and TSB Bank are listed as coming soon on Appleā€™s website.
