Fairly decent phone. Bought in July 2017 for a little less than the regular price.
Build:
Not bad at all. The specs on this site states aluminum back but it seems like plastic to me. Frame is definitely aluminum and a hard solid side. However the rounded sides and edges cause a lot of slippage from my hands. I have dropped this phone over 20+ times and even from a second floor drop directly down to ground. No major damage except for the crack on the tempered glass and scratches on the back. Phone is still usable to this day. Still loving the LED notification. Brightness on this phone isn't very good. It looks quite dark even at 100% and you will have problems in direct sunlight.
Connectivity:
As well as can be expected. The only problem i had is after downloading a massive file via hotspot, the signal drops to H from 4G. It takes a long time to recover unless I restart the phone. It's only an occasional problem though. Never had any of those call drops as described in some comments here.
Camera/Video:
The weakest feature on this phone by far. Sometimes the photos won't save at all and you can't see anything. The photos come out as overly bright too. Video won't record until you try a few times. I think there's a problem with the software not being responsive. It's also bad that HTC doesn't not even update their app anymore.
Battery:
There's some issues with the battery. Stock battery got really weak after a year. I have replaced it once and it's starting to get weaker. Also there's an issue with using a powerbank with this phone. Sometimes it doesn't display the proper amount correctly and becomes stuck at that level for a long while. Say you charge it to 100% and it remains at 100%, you keep using until level drops dramatically and only then it will display properly. It doesn't have a big battery but seems to discharge too much too soon.
Usage:
Phone feels really good to use. Speed is still ok on most apps that i use. Gaming is still fine though nothing with steep requirements. The MT p10 stood well compared to another phone with a MT p23 that i had. Gaming was better on this phone surprisingly. Fingerprint sensor is really fast on this phone. I like the phone app here, it offers quite a few options that is quite easy and intuitive to manage. Themes you can apply are a nice addition.
Overall, Desire 10 pro isn't a bad phone but neither is it a good one either. Thinking back, if it was 10% percent cheaper I would've recommended it. I had some good times with this phone. By now, this set is a good hand-me-down for another person who can't afford a new phone. However, too little support or updates from HTC means whatever problems you have will not be addressed. I would give this 7/10

Absolutely solid phone, using it from last 4 years, my toddler has thrown it many times on floor, bathroom everywhere but it's still running fine......

Worst phone. less than 18 months and it becomes dead. Shuts down itself, battery is awful

ahm, 20 Apr 2020Unfortunately, i'm having the same problem also I bought this phone in 2018. When my internet connection is on and a phone call enters, the phone switches off automatically. Even with 100% battery display, it still happens except when I use external power bank battery with it. I have changed the battery but it still happens. Any solution to this?

Very bad phone, I am using from 3 yrs and after few day I faced mobile hang & auto switch off issues. I visit service center 4 times in first year but problem did not resolve. Still i am facing problems. I mailed many times to customer support but they did not response. HTC is very worst company don't buy HTC product.

verry bad phone .I am using last one and half year so this phone is continuously hang and suddenly switch off. battery power is very poor . so dont buy........

Is there any solution to the phone freezing for a long time while playing a video and then going off? It could take some hours to come on. This is really annoying.

Hi, almost 3 years user here...still counting haha
The phone got heating issues
My camera is still functioning both front and back but a bit slow in snapping pic when using snapchat.
My mic got problem, like during online meeting my sound can't be heard by other ppl...
Gaming is the worst experience for me with this phone, while I was playing mobile legend or other 5v5 games, i was having severe lagging issues, like the movements will be cut off suddenly, causing poor control of movement and attacking directions... It affect my performance in the game a lot...
And my audio jack also spoil, may be it's due to droppedsss last time, (falls many times dy HAHA)
I had changed my battery once..
Got battery draining issues, so must bring along power bank
However, I think all these issues are normal for a mid-range phone?(perhaps)
Erm...although it's not a good experience with me but I would appreciate this phone for helping me in my life haha
Thus, I will still be using this phone until it die

I honestly want to write this for people who are trying to buy this. I want to give my true experience after using it for more than 3 years
If you are trying buying this its a big Nooooo from me because
I had to changed the battery after a rundown
Had to replace the sound card
Front camera started not working which prompts to error sending to htc
Even the back camera is not working independently it has to be accessed with a special app
Apparently the fingerprint feature too stopped workings just after about 1 year and the flash (torch is too not working)
I want to tell that i am not a heavy gamer and i hv handled the phone with good care. I know 3 year is quite a long time but it stopped most of it essential features even before 3 years.. highly dissapointed for the price paid as well.

I buy this phone last year but in that year i use good no problem anything but after that my phone cannot open but charging.. When i try to open its opening only the screen name htc desire10 pro and boom shoutdown again.. I dont know what happen..

This phone is the most inefficient HTC phone I've ever seen. It usually hang up when on video call or playing online video sometimes even when trying to go back to home screen, it will prompt you an error and asking to send report.
This is seriously annoying.
In fact, there's a need for its manufacturer to release the phones software update.

3 years used this phone..everything is ok..already changed the battery..the camera also not bad..battery also can stand for a day in normal used..lately the screen had 2 black line & no more sensitive but still can use it...supposedly change the screen should be ok..but i make a desicion to change a new phone (lenovo z6 pro) for a new experiance with lenovo..thanks htc d 10 for the 3 years experiance..
