Huawei Honor 6S spotted online

Victor, 02 December 2016

Last month, Huawei introduced a new addition to its Honor sub-brand in the shape of the Honor 6X. Now it appears the Chinese OEM is looking to broaden options even further with an even more affordable variant of the handset. It will likely be called the Honor 6S and is said to cost around $120 or $130.

Other info on the device is still fuzzy, but from the provided renders, it is at least clear that the dual-camera setup is gone. That alone might be enough to bring the cost down to the suggested level, so we can only assume most other specs will be shared between the pair. That would include things like a 5.5-inch FullHD display, 4G and VoLTE support, a hybrid SIM slot and a sizable 3340 mAh battery.

As for the chipset, the rumor does also mention a Snapdragon 435 SoC. It is one of the chips that came along with the Snapdragon 625, in Qualcomm's refresh earlier this year. Sadly, unlike the latter model, the 435 isn't based on a 14nm process, but rather on an older 28nm one. That means less power efficiency can be expected out of the eight Cortex-A53 cores.

The Huawei Honor 6S should hit markets in January 2017.

The chipset is very low but the price is very good if indeed it is true. I hate it when the speculative price comes here but when the product comes the price is always higher than the suspected. $120 or $130 let be so. Bring it to Africa please. I am...
