This phone serves me very well for more than 3 years. If not because i broke the glass after i drop it, i wont replace my phone. Performance i great however, it heats a lot especially if you use it for 30 mins to an hour of playing asphalt 8. I bought an Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML and it broke after 4 months without even dropping it.

I have been using P6 for nearly 3 years now. This phone is incrediby tough and reliable. I took it to my multiple days hiking trip in the rainforest and it is still working fine today.Believe me when I say the 'branded' phone will die on you but not P6.

Had issue with the phone getting overheated. The problem was the battery. At one point, the battery got bloated until it cracked opened the LCD screen (not broken) and yet the phone still works like normal. Had the battery replaced and the overheating problem gone.

I had issue with battery draining too. I removed all those unused apps and disable those Google Apps which I didnt use. Periodically I reformat the phone so it would perform like a new phone everytime (remember to back up). And with KitKat now, I am loving the phone even more. "ok Google". Love Huawei UI bcos of its simplicity and practicality.

I am getting P9 or S7 (Samsung UI kinda sucks though) next because of LTE and better camera.

Phone specs comparing to its price is great , had no issues for 2 years , however there are some drawbacks ; the phone over heats to an uncomfortable level .

Also sometimes it goes crazy and keeps restarting like a maniac.

the battery life is not so good .

                  Overall 6.5/10

As of the date of posting this comment, my Ascend P6 is approximately 2 years and 5 months old.

It has worked satisfactorily with occasional instances of the device getting uncomfortably hot, but not to the extent of overheating when more power intensive apps are executed, such as YouTube & Waze.

However, about a month ago while I was attempting to use Waze as usual to obtain directions to a location, the system issued a warning that the device was getting too hot and some phone functions may be disabled/not work properly (can't remember the exact wording).

In fear for my physical safety, I switched off the device and was left to rely on my not-so-recent memory of the correct directions to my intended destination.

Although the time of this incident is in the afternoon in Malaysia where the temperature could be at 31 degrees celcius, I was operating an appropriately air-conditioned vehicle and should as such be reassured that the phone would not heat up to this extent (of disability of certain phone functionality).

I hope my case-specific opinion will provide a refreshing perspective on the commonly noticed issue of excessive heating for existing and potential owners.

Its the worst phone. I did a lot of research for this phone before buying it but still in my life it was a regret. battery very weak. and the biggest disappointment that in spite a lot of care even it looks new in hands, it shows no signal sometime. and a lot of times in emergency i couldnt call from it which was a shame for me. never buy this phone please. its just a show piece.

Bought in January 2014. Worst battery life and performance. Battery drops quickly when in stand-by. Charging time sometimes gets slow and drops down sometimes by up to 1-2% while charging during use. Gets extremely hot as well.

Now after 2 years and 3 months, I switched to Galaxy A7 (2016 edition) earlier this month. My new phone now has better battery life, better performance, fast charging and beautiful display. I suggest never to buy Huawei again unless you try it out first!!!
