BlackDigger, 09 Nov 2023Dear, about which film do you talking about ??? That one o... moreMan, before commenting and insulting by calling me a newbie, first read carefully. I'm not talking about protective film on a display, I clearly said it was some film, or rather say coat on the TOF sensor lens that's peeling off. Maybe it is an oleophobic coating on the glass, I'm not sure, but it has peeled off completely by now. Mine is not the only case, I've seen it on the other devices being posted for sale and someone complained on FB of the same issue.
By now, it completely peeled off, 4 months after I noticed it first. I notice it looks greasy now, so probably it was some kind of oleophobic coat.

Just bought Huawei Mate 50 Pro in KSA (Nov 15, 2023) and I can say, it is worthy! It is good to be back from Huawei Mate 20 then stop using Huawei phones to now, Mate 50 Pro. I can literally say, I can live without GMS. I use my phone mainly for social medias and youtube. I have FB, Messenger, IG, Tiktok, Snapchat, Telegram (all without need of GMS). I use Huawei Browser for Youtube and search. I used Petal Maps for navigation. BTW, Mate 50 Pro is my secondary phone, afterall, I am now a certified iPhone user.

Battery: 7/10 I used it as hotspot, so I charged 2x daily. It's understandable.

Screen: 10/10 Perfect, i couldn't tell any negative, aside from slight curved screen.

Camera: 10/10 Amazing photos, All i can say is perfect.

Software: 10/10 Even without GMS, the software and feels of Huawei phones are at par with iPhones. Same feelings while typing at it's keyboard (btw, i am using Google Keyboard without using any Gbox)

Sounds: 10/10 The sounds and speaker is absolutely perfect! Crystal Clear

Network: 9/10 No 5G but still great signal reception. I can say it fine since my Huawei has a better 4G connection than my oneplus 11.

Gaming and Performance: 10/10 You can play everything. Throw everything into this phone, no problem, Mate 50 Can handle it.

Final Verdict: 9.4/10 Buy now if the phone is on sale.

My advice to you is, if you're not sure or just want to try Huawei phones, buy cheaper series like Nova series. And trust me, you won't miss GMS.

                  Cheers!!!

P.S: when you will buy new laptop , don't forget to remove protection plastics on stickers...

I am quite disappointed with the purchase of this phone. I knew in advance that it did not come with Google services but the support that Huawei gives it is very bad. I only have the May security patch, who knows when they will decide to update to more current security patches (I own a A34 and it have the august security patch)And not to mention the camera, according to Dxomark it is "one of the best" but the truth is my S21 FE takes better photos.

i found this phone for 350 usd

                                  I've had this phone for a couple of months, coming from P40->Xperia 5 III -> P40 ->Mate 50 Pro.
The phone is quite good, but there's a bit of disappointment.
First, the build quality is worse compared to the P40, the lens over TOF/Laser AF started peeling soon after, and the film is completely gone by now.
The sides of the frame already showing signs of scratches and discoloration, compared to P40 which has none after almost 3 years.
EMUI isn't as lag and stutter-free as it used to be, there are bugs, and sometimes it has to be reset, not to talk about lack of software upgrades.
The fingerprint sensor started bugging me recently.
F3.5 is too narrow of aperture for the zoom camera, even with the slightest available light reduction it makes a switch to the main camera, which returns grainy, noisy zoomed photos. Not even pro mode can help sometimes, as it won't switch sometimes to the zoom camera and use main instead. This was also present on P40, much less noticeable due to the F2.4 aperture.
The pixels on the main sensor are smaller compared to the 40 series, which is noticeable in extreme low-light situations.
Overall, still a better choice than the S22 Ultra, but I'd rather not buy it again.
